That Bama fans would pull for LSU instead of Georgia. Seems like since they are pretty much guaranteed a spot in the NC anyway being the # 2 ranked team, and having already lost... That they wouldn't want to play LSU again. Anyone care to elaborate?

They want to play LSU again so they can beat them. Then no one can claim that bama doesn't deserve the title. That is, if they can beat LSU.

Their case for being #2 is stronger if LSU is undefeated. They could get jumped today if OkSt wins the BigXII, so they aren't a lock by any means.

Correct, they (Bama) want LSU to win as it only reinforces their case as their only loss being to the only undefeated and #1 team in the country. Simply put, the best kind of loss that you can have in a given year.

It appears that LSU is on a different level than everybody else.

Beating someone by 3 in OT is a different level?

Didn't Alabama miss a FG at the end of the game to win?

Why do people think LSU is superior to Alabama. I don't get it

Pretty much the answer I was looking for, but honestly... Bama gets in no matter what IMO. Why would u want to play the only team that can And has beat you? No other team in the country can beat Bama other than Lsu. Oki St... Wouldn't do it.... No there team stands in their way to a NC But LSU.. Being a UT fan, I'm always out for what's best for the team, And playing LSU doesn't seem like what they ''truly'' would want... Know I wouldn't... Just sayin

In today's screwed up, subjective BCS world of college football, the goal is to make it into the BCSCG. Period. You worry about winning the game after getting into it, regardless of the opponent.

LSU would go whether they win or not though. Bama is the one that has a chance to be passed (slim).

Even if Oklahoma St wins they are not gonna pass Alabama. It will be LSU-Alabama in the National Championship game.:hi:

LSU has no losses, Bama has one loss, to LSU. That alone makes LSU the superior team.

Copied this from an LSU fan on another site.
Assuming that Oklahoma State, with a win, would glean a #2 rating in at least five BCS computers (which would likely happen), and assuming that Virginia Tech will not be ranked ahead of Alabama or Oklahoma State (more on that in a bit), here are some numbers I figured out yesterday while I was bored at work:

Unanimous #2 in computers: .9600
Unanimous #3 in computers: .9200

Therefore, if this happens, then Oklahoma state has a .0400 lead over Alabama, and Alabama would need to beat Oklahoma State by an average of >.0200 in each of the polls.

So how many votes over Alabama does Oklahoma State need?

Number of Coaches Poll votes: 59
Number of Harris Poll votes: 115

Here's what Oklahoma State needs, Virginia Tech's ranking notwithstanding:

15 #2 votes and 44 #3 votes in the Coaches Poll: .9301 (compared to Alabama's presumed .9499)
29 #2 votes and 89 #3 votes in the Harris Poll: .9302 (compared to Alabama's presumed .9498)

Oklahoma State: (.9600 + .9301 + .9302) ÷ 3 = .9401
Alabama: (.9200 + .9499 + .9498) ÷ 3 = .9399

Simply put, if Oklahoma State wins, and if 25% of the voters vote them over Alabama, they will be ranked ahead of Alabama in the BCS...unless Virginia Tech also snags some votes.

I don't know about that. But LSU has 4 running backs that run hard and hit the line. And we have none.

Yes they are. The voters will keep them there. Bamas worst loss was to LSU by 3 in OT, and OSU lost in OT by 6 to unranked Iowa State. Bama will be in, regardless.

You have to imagine that most voters are college football fans, at least you hope so, so they know if they put OSU in there they know they are looking at very boring ball game whereas Bama and LSU are the only two teams that can beat each other on any given night. Since there's little to no justification to the way the BCS structures it's head-to-head post season games, it's obvious that popularity and $$$ are the #1 motivators when it comes to any sort of debate on team choice. Bama vs. LSU will generate a whole lot more revenue than OSU vs. LSU.

An LSU win would benefit Bama because right now the voters believe LSU and Bama are easily the best two teams in the country and that they're the only two teams capable of playing with each other. Something which hurts that notion would hurt Bama.

Bama will win by 10 in a rematch. Both teams are extremely talented but I would take Saban in a rematch.

I have a problem with a team going to play for a national championship game when they didn't win their conference. 2001 when LSU beat then undefeated Tennessee who was left out of the championship game against Miami??? WE WERE so I have no problem with Oklahoma State jumping Alabama if the voters choose to move them up after the game tonight providing they win.
