Correct, they (Bama) want LSU to win as it only reinforces their case as their only loss being to the only undefeated and #1 team in the country. Simply put, the best kind of loss that you can have in a given year.
Pretty much the answer I was looking for, but honestly... Bama gets in no matter what IMO. Why would u want to play the only team that can And has beat you? No other team in the country can beat Bama other than Lsu. Oki St... Wouldn't do it.... No there team stands in their way to a NC But LSU.. Being a UT fan, I'm always out for what's best for the team, And playing LSU doesn't seem like what they ''truly'' would want... Know I wouldn't... Just sayin

Even if Oklahoma St wins they are not gonna pass Alabama. It will be LSU-Alabama in the National Championship game.:hi:
Assuming that Oklahoma State, with a win, would glean a #2 rating in at least five BCS computers (which would likely happen), and assuming that Virginia Tech will not be ranked ahead of Alabama or Oklahoma State (more on that in a bit), here are some numbers I figured out yesterday while I was bored at work:
Unanimous #2 in computers: .9600
Unanimous #3 in computers: .9200
Therefore, if this happens, then Oklahoma state has a .0400 lead over Alabama, and Alabama would need to beat Oklahoma State by an average of >.0200 in each of the polls.
So how many votes over Alabama does Oklahoma State need?
Number of Coaches Poll votes: 59
Number of Harris Poll votes: 115
Here's what Oklahoma State needs, Virginia Tech's ranking notwithstanding:
15 #2 votes and 44 #3 votes in the Coaches Poll: .9301 (compared to Alabama's presumed .9499)
29 #2 votes and 89 #3 votes in the Harris Poll: .9302 (compared to Alabama's presumed .9498)
Oklahoma State: (.9600 + .9301 + .9302) ÷ 3 = .9401
Alabama: (.9200 + .9499 + .9498) ÷ 3 = .9399
Simply put, if Oklahoma State wins, and if 25% of the voters vote them over Alabama, they will be ranked ahead of Alabama in the BCS...unless Virginia Tech also snags some votes.
Their case for being #2 is stronger if LSU is undefeated. They could get jumped today if OkSt wins the BigXII, so they aren't a lock by any means.
Yes they are. The voters will keep them there. Bamas worst loss was to LSU by 3 in OT, and OSU lost in OT by 6 to unranked Iowa State. Bama will be in, regardless.
