Second best team in the East...

Of course #2 in the east could be the Sugar Bowl (I think) or the Citrus Bowl (or whatever the hell they call it this year)

Vandy will do the usual and go 3-9 and 0-8 in the SEC when all is said and done and Derek Mason will be looking for an assistant's job somewhern come December.

Mason fired himself and hired Jason Tarver as DC, we'll see if it makes a difference or not.

Well see how good Vandy is after this weekend. Playing at Notre Dame.

Vandy will either be 2-1 or looking to overtake Georgia as the #1 spot in the SEC East.

More realistically, Kentucky should be able to beat Murray State, and will probably end up 3-0 after next week. They'll probably then get crushed by Mississippi State, and South Carolina can go either way. Doesn't mean Kentucky will be relevant by the end of the year, but starting out 3-0 is still a nice achievement for a lot of teams.

Like I said in another thread, there are 6 teams that have a shot at finishing second in the east. They all also have a shot at last. Let's see how the next 11 weeks play out.

If Vandy goes into ND and wins, then yeah I'll talke them seriously. Maybe even if they put up a good game. But I have a feeling ND is going to win going away.

That's not to say Vandy can't finish 2nd in the East but I still doubt it, even though 2nd in the East this year is tallest midget.

I'm kind of surprised Notre Dame is only a 2 TD favorite. Perhaps it is because of the 8 point victory over Ball St last week, but Notre Dame also has already beaten Michigan. I think they probably win going away.

Most recent performance is trumping a good win the previous week. ND has been inconsistent over recent memory. I could see Vandy having a shot to win in the 4th or being down 21.

Im not sure how good either are at this point.

While many things are possible, I feel that any chance or lack thereof Vandy has will be determined this weekend.

For Kentucky to take #2, I think the Mississippi State game will be the key.

#1 Georgia
#2 Alcoa
#3 South Carolina
#4 Missouri
#5 Tennessee
#6 Kentucky
#7 Florida
#8 Vandy

maybe?

Edit..................Herbie picked Vandy over ND. Guess Vandy is now #3:confused:

So Georgia and Kentucky lead the pack at 3-0, UT improves to 2-1, Vandy falls to 2-1, Florida will likely be 2-1 after today, Missouri hasn't played yet, and South Carolina cancelled their game. Except for Georgia bring a likely lock for #1, literally any of these other six teams could finish all over the place.

Next week is going to be very interesting, what with six of these teams in SEC East matchups, plus Kentucky hosting the lesser Bulldogs.
