Second round of stimulus; gamesmanship

$32 per hour is rich?

More so skilled labor, and thus, always warranted and needed. Consistent opportunity allows for the stretch of "inclusion" into rich........

Earnings are a terrible interpretation of wealth........people can earn half a million a year and spend more than they earn, so, are they wealthy.......no.....assets minus debts and obligations equal the reality of wealth or not.

Rank-and-File Democrats Revolting Against Nancy Pelosi over Coronavirus Aid

Rank-and-file Democrats have increasingly become frustrated with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) brinksmanship-style negotiations with congressional Republicans and President Donald Trump.

Politico reported that Pelosi has continued to pursue her hardline approach in negotiations with Republicans, demanding a coronavirus bill around $2.2 trillion.

The report arises as many coronavirus programs created by the CARES Act have languished over Pelosi’s reluctance to compromise with Trump and congressional Republicans.

However, her reluctance to find a middle ground with moderate Democrats has infuriated many of her most vulnerable members.

During a call with the moderate New Democrat Coalition and Democrat leadership on Tuesday, Rep. Kathleen Rice (D-NY) asked Pelosi why the House would not stay in session until they pass a deal. In response, the Speaker said to “take a poll of your colleagues.”

Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D-VA), who represents a district Trump won in 2016 by more than six percent, said during the call, “My conviction is to actually do my damn job and come up with a solution for the American people. We have to bring something to the floor.”

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD), the second highest-ranking Democrat, has pushed for Pelosi to change her strategy but said he would not “undermine” Pelosi.

'Nancy Pelosi take this deal': Democrat backlash after House Speaker sharply rejects Trump's $1.8 trillion coronavirus relief offer

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is facing backlash from some Democrats after she sharply rejected Trump's $1.8 trillion coronavirus relief offer.

President Donald Trump on Friday offered a $1.8 trillion coronavirus relief package in talks with Pelosi after urging his team on Twitter to 'go big' - moving closer to Pelosi's $2.2 trillion proposal.

The proposal was dismissed by Pelosi as inadequate. In a weekly letter to Democratic colleagues, she explained that the proposal lacked a 'strategic plan to crush the virus' and gave President Trump too much power in deciding how the funds would be spent.

But the House Speaker's decision has drawn criticism from some Democrats. Andrew Yang, a former presidential candidate, tweeted on Saturday: 'Nancy Pelosi take this deal! Put politics aside people are hurting.'

Dan Pfeiffer, the co-host of the left-leaning podcast 'Pod Save America', tweeted: 'While there are potential risks, Democrats should aggressively pursue a COVID Relief deal with Trump.

California Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna wrote on Twitter: 'People in need can't wait until February,

Pelosi lashes out at CNN's Wolf Blitzer as GOP 'apologist' during testy exchange on stalled COVID stimulus

Tuesday on CNN’s “The Situation Room,” host Wolf Blitzer questioned House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) for her refusal to accept a deal with Republicans for COVID-19 relief.

During the exchange, Pelosi accused the CNN host of being an apologist for Republicans.

“What I say to you is, I don’t know why you’re always an apologist, and many of your colleagues are apologists for the Republican position,”

The two went back and forth over House Democrat negotiating tactics with Pelosi dismissing Blitzer, who cited Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) and former Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang’s assertions that a federal coronavirus response was needed sooner rather than later.

“Ro Khanna, that’s nice,” she said. “That isn’t what we’re going to do. And nobody’s waiting until February. I want this very much now because people need help now. But it’s no use giving them a false thing just because the president wants to put a check with his name on it in the mail.”

“Andrew Yang, he’s lovely,” she added. “Ro Khanna, he’s lovely. They are not negotiating this situation. They have no idea of the particulars.”

“With all due respect, you really don’t know what you’re talking about,” Pelosi responded to Blitzer. “So do a service to the issue and have some level of respect for the people who have worked on these issues, written the bill, to begin with.”

Wow ..you know it’s bad when wolf puts NAN on blast . LOL

Exactly....and I don't believe for even half a second that 200k people died FROM covid..

Even the CDC report said nearly all the people dead had 1 or more COMORBIDITIES. Heart problems, lung problems, which were already serious. If someone died for whatever reason, and tested positive for antibodies to coronavirus (which can also be a false positive from another corona such as the flu ) regardless of what they died FROM, if they died WITH a post mortem positive test then they were counted as a covid death. Big difference between dying FROM a disease and dying WITH antibodies for a disease with the actual cause of death being some other condition.

The problem is that hospitals and nursing homes did NOT differentiate between FROM and WITH...and they had a vested interest in getting as many covid positives as possible...since other surgeries and normal hospital work was cancelled and hospitals largely sat empty.

So how many people out of those 200k actually DID die FROM covid? Half? A quarter? 10%??? The media tries so hard 24 hours a day to scare everyone that most older people were avoiding going to hospitals or Dr's even though they actually needed care. How many of those elderly people who died could have lived without the hysteria whipped up by Dems and the MSM???

You would have to be terribly myopic to believe those figures, knowing all the circumstances involved. The same clowns that throw out that fictional 200k number in trying to slam Trump for his response are the same clowns that called Trump a racist when he banned flights from Asia in the very beginning to keep the virus from getting here as much as possible at the time.

Complete clownshow. The Chicken Littles that screamed that ",the sky is falling" since the very beginning about a virus that is really only dangerous to a very, very small % of the population should be mocked, criticized, and held responsible for the panic they intentionally induced. Posters who come here and spout the same nonsense, just because they hate Trump are just as bad as the media. Clowns gonna clown, though right???

He downplayed the virus from the jump. Hell, here we are 8 months and 215k innocent lives later, he's still downplaying it.

Most of our economy was shut down for months. If anything, he over played it. Even the 15 days to stop the spread was too much.

Most of the rules / restrictions falls on state and local government. There is where most of your beef should be. Again, most over played.

If you are concerned about his words or tweets, I would advise you never to take advice from a politician. I wouldn’t even trust an organization attached to politicians. Weigh the evidence yourself and act appropriately.
