Have a lot of family in Lower Alabama (LA). Really good people...mostly Auburn graduates. My dad was station at Fort Rucker in 1942 and assigned to the 35th Infantry Division. Met my mom there before the war.
But when I think of Alabama, that's not what I remember. Although an accident, chasing a 50/50 ball, I see an out of control Alabama player diving on a prone body with a secured basketball...regardless of what the referees said. I hear sounds not associated with basketball. I see our best player lost (maybe) for the season and our team struggling as a result. I hear the Alabama football faithful singing Yellow Jamma. Words such as "Tennesse, we just beat the hell out of you" speaks to unsportsman like arrogance. I hear Coach Warlick saying before one of her five losses to Coach Curry, "Man they run some good stuff, wondering all the time... if we know what it is... why don't we run it or counter it. Still confused.
So tonight, with absolutely no malice, I let Jordan Horston speak to the team before the game. It's time to rise up and dominate.
