I wouldn't worry about it.

If you've read my posts you know I'm not fond of the typical Bammer fan.

However, I've been to several games there and have never seen a hint of trouble.  What's more common to see is people going out of the way to make you feel welcome.

IMHO, it's one more obsession with the Bama faithful - have opposing fans leave saying they've never seen more hospitable hosts.  I've heard many brag of it.

At least this obsession makes a positive contribution to college football karma  :p

Thank you. I do think that the majority of Bama fans want to show opposing fans a good time. It makes us a part of the game experience. We take tail gating seriously. I am sure there will be so much sent out from the University the week before the game warning fans to be on their best behavior, and not to start anything. Now that is not to say that you won't hear Coach Phil called a few names. Hey you can't expect miracles from these people, but I do feel that if some red neck fan(yes we all have them) tries to start something, another Bama fan will jump in and tell them to sit down and shut up. So ya'll come on down, and have a good time, and by all means we want you to feel safe.

Don't they have security at ALL games for that, especially since 9/11?

LIO, if you think a handgun would get caught by gate "security" (notice the clever use of quotation marks), do this:

At your next game, when UT scores and everyone stands up to cheer, remain seated and gracefully lean forward so as to peer beneath the bleacher seats. Now, count the number of pint and fifth bottles (mostly glass) that you see (or smell). I can assure you that a small handgun would be easier to conceal than a bulky glass bottle full of bourbon.

I'm just going to go out on a limb and say that "security" is probably aware of the influx of "prohibited beverages" at the stadium. After all, it's good for Coke sales!

I doubt Alabama fans do anything really bad to anyone. Just talk, imo, from the extreme
