Thinking Ahead and maybe a little Premature but Tennessee will finish in the lower half of the SEC Standings...

Favorable Seeds would be #7, #10, #6, #11 which would put us in the #2, #3 lower bracket.

Thoughts...Tennessee at #8 currently..tied with LSU...

If they could put it together they would be fun to watch. Lose to a bad team, then beat a good team.

I am beginning to think the Tourney only comes with a deep run in the tourney and an 8-8 season record... Like would I see different than CBP miss the excitement but this is a workhorse team...CCM getting it done...

The new system would have helped us out the past two years. It's not nearly as lopsided this season.

I am glad they went to this format and I agree with the past years....

Tourney hopes pretty much died at Rupp.
RPI is still bouncing around in the 140s.
Have to win the tourney to get to the the tourney now.

lost to florida, win the rest end the season at 18-13(10-6), win 2 in tourney? i doubt it's enough just curious on your thoughts, thats adding wins at bama, at lsu, vs ark, vs vandy.

Here are the current SEC rpi rankings.
Note 7 teams in the top 60.
It's not mathematically impossible, but you can see the teams we have to beat to vault into the 60s.
Keep in mind, when we beat Uconn we only jumped 20 spots.

SEC RPI Rankings
KY 5
Fla 14
Vandy 27
Miss St 31
Bama 33
Ole Miss 51
Ark 60
LSU 75
GA 128
Aub 131
TN 143
SC 155

We need to cut our RPI in half, have either Ole Miss or Arky tank, and the Committee take 7. Don't hold your breath.

Blah. So a win at Florida and bama would be better for our rpi than a win at lsu right?

Well in any case im happy it's even a thought right now this team is above expectations, 11th in sec.

Why don't we just focus on getting as good as we can in the next couple of weeks, have a good SEC tourney, and JUST MAYBE the NIT will come calling. Less than probably 7-9 in the SEC will chase even the NIT away.

1. UK
2. Everyone else

After seeing them destory UF, I just do not see why it would matter what we are. UK is going to dominate the SEC tourney.

Because if we're on the same side as uk we will face them in our 2nd game. Our chances of winning our 2nd game are much better against any team other than uk.

And if we're talking NCAA tournament we need atleast 2 wins in sec t, easiest way is without facing uk.

As the OP said, we want six, seven, ten or eleven.

We aren't just losing on the road we are disappearing. The NIT is probably a wing and a prayer but slightly possible if we get Stokes back

At Rupp, yes, but let's see them win on a neutral court against Florida, Vandy, and Mississippi State before we crown them the kings of anything.

About Tennessee, yeah, I can see them getting anywhere from a six to a ten. Imo, seven is most likely. Did anyone watch that Arkansas-Georgia game last night? I've never seen a team play so well at home and so badly on the road (Arkansas).

My seedings would go:

1) Kentucky
2) Florida
3) Vanderbilt
4) Mississippi State
5) Alabama
6) Ole Miss
7) Tennessee
8) LSU
9) Arkansas
10) Auburn
11) Georgia
12) South Carolina

Unless UT can get some road wins, that RPI is going to stay where it's at. You win on the road and it'll go up. Since we seem unable to do that, we'd have to win the SEC tourney.

I think the NIT is a more logical goal for this team. Unless we go on some miraculous run, we need to just be content on making the NIT and that is no given.

For the record, Tennessee is 4-5 in the SEC right now with a two game winning streak. They could win out and go 11-5, get a bye and advance to the SEC Tourney title game and lose. If they did that, they would be 9-1 over the final 10 games of the season. Even then, I don't think they would make the tournament with a below average OOC showing and some terrible losses along the way.
