Did we just make a final four in our coaches first year?

Yes counting eggs before they hatch etc. but we know upsets like this don't happen in women's ball very often. I just don't see our ladies not making a final four at this point.

I never know exactly how were gonna play. Today we played great hopefully we will be ready because this is a chance to get to the final four.

I like our chances all the way to the championship game if we can beat Louisville. I think they'll be tougher than either Cal or Georgia would be in the final four.

Daloth, I am inclined to strongly agree with you. Today's scenario played to our advantage in just about every way conceivable. We played well against Oklahoma and were able to take the foot off the gas pedal at the end, giving our starters additional rest. Lousville played an incredible, incredible game but you cannot expect them to be that red hot from beyond the arc in two successive games. Furthermore, it had to be an emotionally exhausting game to hold on and win in that fashion. I like our chances immensely of advancing to the Final Four. Now, if only someone would do us all a favor and knock off UConn.

Yeah the bracket wasn't clear but I think if we win against Louisville then we get the ND/Duke winner... not the Cal/GA. I need to find a clearer bracket to look at.

Anyway, let's just beat whoever they put in front of us and not worry about it.

I really hope the team does not have this mindset. Clearly looking ahead of teams does not work well....See Baylor for reference.

I did not like the way the Baylor team and Coach Mulkey left the court without congradulating the Cardnials....... Show me anytime where a Ladyvols team acted like that. Pat would have killed them...... lol. Another thing when Baylor had us down by 17 in dec and Kim paraded all up n down the court like they were Hot $tuff .... I was hopeing Karma would show up and it did.

Mulkey made a fool out of herself on national TV.

Anyone see Griner give the louisville coach that go to hell look when he tried to speak to her right after the game? She gave him the evil eye and walked off. Incredibly poor losers.

I hope our gals go into this game thinking they better bring their "A" game if they want to beat the team that beat Baylor. Louisville is not going to lay down and if they weren't intimidated by Baylor, damn straight they won't be intimated by us. Just like Oklahoma, we can win, but we have to earn it.

Baylor was classless after the game. I get they didn't lose much the past 4 years, but show some sportsmanship. It's one thing for the players to act like that, but the coach? To complain about the refs when two of Louisville's best players fouled out and they were called for 10 more fouls than your team is just whining. I hope she gets a nice fine.

As for the Lady Vols, there's no excuse now for not reaching the Championship Game. If their heads are right and barring another crazy shooting night like Louisville had tonight, and the Lady Vols should have a chance to win it all. There are two things that can stop them:

1. The way they approach their game Tuesday night - will they be overconfident?
2. Meghan Simmons. She is an unbelievable talented player, but 1-15? Give me a break. I get that she is a hot/cold shooter, but when you aren't hitting, give it up. She's far from the only scorer on this team. Someone needs to tell her to quit shooting the dang ball when she's missing. If they lose before the Championship, much of it will likely be on her. Let the seniors carry this team and they'll keep moving on.

I hope they come out pissed off that Louisville denied them the chance to play Baylor and take it out on them. I think we match up much better with Louisville than Baylor did because we can score from any position and we play good defense on the guards.

Hopefully they will be emotionally spent and we will be fired up. I wonder who the OK crowd will cheer for?

It was one of the strangest games I have ever seen in one key respect. I fully understand that Griner is a highly disruptive force inside, but how often do you see a team shoot 16-25 (64.0%) from beyond the three-point arc and 11-31 (roughly 35%) from inside it?

Incidentally, I didn't pay attention but how tall is Louisville compared to the Lady Vols? It seems counter-intuitive but, based on tonight's game, I would be inclined to severely contest Louisville's perimeter game and force them to beat us inside.

Normally coaches want their top scoreres to shoot their way out of their poor shooting stretch. I can't remember the exact game earlier this season but Simmons had a similar night only to hit 4 straight 3s in the last few minutes of the game...because she continued to shoot when open. What Simmons doesn't need to do is take rushed shots with someone in her face with plenty of time on the shot clock. But I suspect Holly wants Simmons to keep shooting as long as it is an open shot.

I'm glad they lost and Griner is finally done. I guess its on to the NBA for him. :)
