Seems like we need an AD like...

You know what you're getting with Petrino.

You'll win in year one and win big in year two, then comes the train wreck or the midnight dash out of town. Good deal for WKU, not for UTK - JMHO TIFWIW.

GBO !
Chances are we won't win in year 1 because of the schedule and we won't win in year 2 because we lose most of our starters on both lines. As it is, I'm being told to just wait and see what happens in 2015. Makes WKU's situation look pretty good.

I think all this "we need a new AD" crap is stupid. Just because Hart didn't keep the world entertained with the coaching search, the rest of VN equates that to stupidity and calls for his head. Our fan base is so damn fickle it's disgusting.

At this point, until Hart proves he's really screwed up something, I'm fine with him as our AD.

Hart 100,000x > Hamilton

Which is unheard of!! I'm just saying because it's obvious Hart doesn't have the pull and this isn't going to work out with the Butch Jones thing. You mean a connected person like Hart couldn't bring in a better coach? Just looking to the future.

It is not unheard of at all. It's quite common. Strong had one. Jones had one. It's standard language in coaching contracts.

The coaches don't ever pay it. The school that hires them pays it. We will pay (or already have) Cinci for the CBJ buyout. I think it was $1.75m. If Petrino once again becomes desirable, and he will if he wins, $1.2m is nothing for a bigger BCS school to pay out. It's 4-5 months salary for those guys.

. . . W need an AD with balls to ACTUALLY get admin to do what's right.

And what exactly is "what's right?"

Just courious, but would you consider yourself to have the "balls" to make your employer do what you want to do?

That's not exactly how the typical employer/employee relationship works. You see - you are supposed to do what THEY want YOU to do. That's why they pay you.

bro if you were here i would offer some four roses single barrel or jeffersons reserve.
Walked into the shop on Church in the L&C Building downtown today and on a lark asked the guy if he had any Pappy VW behind the counter. He offered me a bottle $999. I left empty handed.

WKU's AD Todd Stewart. I don't know anything about this MAAC school except that he is getting nothing but high marks for his hire and contract on Petrino. He is cutting edge and it looks as if he won't be at WKU long with his expertise. Had a friend tell me he is a former Vol as in he graduated here. We need fresh tactics and since our administration doesn't trust outsiders this would work once we run Hart out. W need an AD with balls to ACTUALLY get admin to do what's right.

Graduated from Miami (Ohio). Was a GA here for 2 years

:eek:lol:Thought we had a coach, did they fire coach Jones.

Just a matter of time. We'll win 5-6 games this year and then we have to overcome recruiting against bama, uf, lsu, and now mizzou. Let's see what happens. The Football hire is the most significant. Which is why I said the Petrino hire was like striking gold for the wku ad

What a sad life you must have. Just keep on worshiping Petrino like some of you people do. So when we starting winning again you can be pulling for WKU or what ever team he is coaching for at that point.

WKU is a small program with nothing to lose by this hire and everthing to gain. If a larger university were to make this hire and Patrino does something in the future to get them in trouble the whole world will be saying 'how did you not see that coming?' If Patrino gets WKU in trouble all people will say is 'at least that took a chance, can't hold it against them for taking a gamble on him.'

an AD that admits his school is nothing more than a stepping stone to the coach's next job.

I would have appreciated it if Hammy or Hart would have been truthful too tell us UT is as well! Makes me upset, but it's the truth right now.

IF you knew ANYTHING about college athletics, you would know that Ross Bjork (Ole Miss' current AD) is the reason for most of the success at WKU. The only thing that Stewart has done so far is hire Petrino.

It looks like poisonberry is at it again. What is with this guy? Does he have a grudge against Tennessee football for some reason??

It's called wanting my VOLS team back on track once and for all. I'm sick of the bullcrap! We deserve better than this.

You don't deserve anything. The sense of entitlement that you & many others display is ridiculous.

The only thing fans deserve is an athletic department that does its best to provide resources for winning. The current AD is trying to do just that. Hopefully success will follow.

Exactly. It wasn't exactly a hard decision for a program like WKU.

why not hire Bernie Madoff as the university treasurer. Surely he could double the $$$ UT has to work with in short shriff. Who cares how he would go about it.
