Seigels final bracket!!!

UT beat Vandy, Florida twice, and UConn. Iona, who did you beat? Literally no one. Very unfair pick.

It's good for the team that they get extra practice/games, but I honestly could care less about the NIT.

After looking...

I'm gonna go on a limb and say that USF took Tennessee spot in the play in. That is where Tennessee would have fallen if they got in IMO.

In all honesty, we weren't even remotely close. The lowest win total for an at large was 20. We had 17. Before the tourney, I thought 1 win in the SEC would get us a good chance at getting in and 2 would be a lock. Shawn S. gave us hope after we lost. After watching this, we would have had to beat Vandy just to be in the conversation. It looks like the committee paid a lot of attention to RPI and win totals. But that's okay. Young team and the future is bright. Let's pack the house for the NIT and win the *#%$ thing!

This might sound bad, but to be honest I just don't care about the NIT. We could lose the first game or win the whole thing and it wouldn't phase me either way. Very disappointed.

It is pure ignorance to be mad that a 18-14 team with one win that didn't really count was left out of the tournament.

They CLEARLY put major weight on the RPI whih they said they wouldn't.

I wasn't expecting a bid, but to put Iona in (who doesn't have a quality win all season) seems a bit unfair

Its hard to get a quality win when no one will play you, OOC schedule was good and they beat pretty much everyone they played and all on the road (lost by 1 to Purdue in 1st game on the year and lost to Marshall during a 7 game road trip lasting the whole month of December)

Iona can play and hopefully they don't disappoint now that they caught a break.

Would you reckon if Florida and Vanderbilt was on their schedule they would beat them?

If you think that Florida and Vandy would blow them out by 20+ and Iona wouldn't have a chance to beat them you are completely wrong. I won't go so far as to guarantee wins, but without a doubt they can play with any team in the country, Florida and Vandy included.

The reason I thought UT had a great chance to get in was because of Stokes. He clearly is an impact player and that team is different with him in the lineup, should have got more consideration IMO.

yep, based on the bracket it appears as if they selected teams on RPI and nothing else
