Since the other thread is not about Selby, but a pissing contest between a faux insider and VN members I thought I’d post this piece of real news in a new thread.

Selby on rumors today that he's leaning to Tennessee. "That's not true at all. I don't if I'm bringing Tennessee back into my list at all."

This was after tonight’s game.

Did you hear him say it or did you read the comments? Just wondering because you might able to voice an opinion about it if you heard the tone of his voice. Any chance he was blowing smoke?

Selby rumors running wild | The Shiver, Kansas Jayhawks Sports, Kansas Basketball, Kansas Football

His mom old news saying the same thing...

Honestly this is like Ambles minus the Ustream...

TN will be a good team without Selby, but man we could be a great one with him. We may get there without the kid, but we will not have the type of elite PG Pearl has been denied his whole coaching tenure.

Also at this point if anyone thinks Pearl coaching in Israel is the reason Selby's recruitment is crazy, I have a bridge to sell you.

There's a Rivals video up where he says exactly that. His mom and he have to sit down and talk about whether or not UT is on his list. Right now they aren't.

So he is announcing in 17 days and isn't sure if Tennessee is in the picture? If he honestly doesn't know then Tennessee is out of it. Not often you add to your list and then pick said school 17 days prior to your announcement. Usually you're cutting your list down and have some idea.

While it was a fun argument in its time, I must agree. That situation was falling apart whether Pearl was stateside or not.

I think it's fair to say that Pearl's time in Israel did not negatively affect his job performance over the next several months. If anything, that experience might have made him a better coach. Against TOSU and MSU, we looked unlike any other Vols team I have seen play in an NCAA Tournament game. The efficiency, determination, and heart were unbelievable. Bruce had the team playing its best.

I couldn't agree more. Not only that, but that was the first time I've ever seen CBP have the correct offense most of the game by switching it up rather than just running the flex 90% of the time. He also made some good defensive switch ups late in the 2nd half. I am more optimistic about next year because of what I saw from the coach rather than being optimistic just for the players that are coming in.

Yes, beating Mexico's Jew's took a lot skill and is completely responsible for us being in the Elite 8. It was very beneficial to the Tennessee basketball team.

Either we have blowing smoke (and denial), going to the Big 12, or the beginning of an NCAA investigation inside Kentucky's recruiting practices.

Tennessee Vols' prized signee Tobias Harris broke his foot this week at the McDonald's All-America game.

Harris scored 13 points in the first half of the high school all-star game, but did not play in the second half and had crutches by the end of the game.

Harris told WBIR contributor Ryan Miller after the game that he had injured the foot during practice on Tuesday, but that it wasn't bothering him during the first half of the game.

"They said I hurt it (Tuesday) in practice," said Tobias. "It wasn't that bad. Then today I just broke the bone in my foot, so, it's tough, you know. All you can do is, everything happens for a reason."

"It's tough," Harris added, "but you can't do nothing about it, just got to live life on and regroup and come back now."

Harris said he closely followed the Vols' run to the Elite Eight. "We're looking to go back there next year," he said.

Harris also talked about fellow All-America and former UT commit Josh Selby. "I'm trying to get him to come to Tennessee. He's looking at a couple of schools, but I'm in his ear so all I can do is wait and see."

i don't believe a thing this kid says. it's got Markeith Ambles written all over it. we may be #1 for him right now for all that quote says. they'll say anything to keep the media and us guessing. hey, he's a blue chip recruit it's just the way it is. i'll say this...i hope he'll be a Vol, but i sure don't like his momma.
