Even if Goldman did do anything illegal, can't be jailing all those future treasury secretaries.

no4realztho, a lot of people who shouldn't have been lent money were given all sorts of loans they couldn't pay back by lenders who shouldn't have been able to give them those loans in the first place.

the free money by the banks and others because of the mortgage backs obviously helped the bubble, but no housing downturn in american history has ever not resulted in a major recession.
