September 1st- First day the Vols staff could hit the phones

This is all from Scout.

Today is the first day that the UT staff could hit the phones and call recruits. Alot of news from today.

Dooley was Gabe Wright's first call at 7am this morning. I don't think anyone else called him the rest of the day.

Dooley was Cam Clear's first call.

Dooley was Maurice Couch's first call. Neither Kansas or USC called him.

It looks like Chris Jones may be leaning to the Vols now.

We appear to have gotten heavily in the mix for Sammy Watkins. Hinshaw will supposedly be at his game this week.

All these guys got calls from UT this morning:
Gabe Wright
Antonio Richardson
Mickey Johnson
Cameron Clear
Jessie Williams
Maurice Couch
Brendon Bigelow

These guys got calls this evening:
Justin Worley
DeAnthony Arnett
Tino Thomas

Beautiful, thanks LV. I was just thinking I needed some recruiting news an hour or two ago.

Good stuff! With all the fuss and muss about the beginning of the season, I had completely neglected obsessing over recruiting. It's nice to see our coaching staff hasn't forgotten!

When you say Chris Jones, do you mean christion Jones? DB from GA? I didn't find a thread on just Chris Jones.

I looked up Chris Jones on rivals and saw that he was a solid verbal for the vols, and i flipped out. Only to realize that it was the basketball player from Memphis. haha.

Do you happen to know if anyone on the staff (Hiestand, perhaps?) called Asiata today??

Also, I was surprised a bit to see that Tino was a "first day" call. I was thinking that at this point he would be a take only if we whiffed on some of the others we are after that are higher on our boards. Your opinion of him and his standing on our boards??

According to Twitter: Vincent Dallas WR 6'0 175 Ellenwood (GA) Cedar Grove HS had calls from UNC & Tennessee.

Have no idea on Asiata.

I do not think Tino is a take right now. We would have to miss on Walls, King, Countess, and Jones imo. I don't think he is in the upper tier group of DBs on our board. I'd put him with Chris Milton and Ronnie Harris.

Gabe would be a great get. I hope Dooley stays after him and Dallas. Talent at dl and some depth at wr is going to be critical next year.

Btw the tino thing is a suprise. Will taking loften in as an ee effect how many dbs they are looking at?
