We need this guy.

His dad just died a few days ago. I hope the staff was aware of this beforehand and sensitive to that. I'd hate to have someone tryin' to "sell me" in the middle of that kind of grief. I'm sure whoever called did fine. :good!:

Man, if we don't get a good class it won't be because Coach D is not working his butt off. Go big fella!
With this work ethic it's got to pay off on NSD.
GO VOLS!

This is all from Scout.

Today is the first day that the UT staff could hit the phones and call recruits. Alot of news from today.

Dooley was Gabe Wright's first call at 7am this morning. I don't think anyone else called him the rest of the day.

Dooley was Cam Clear's first call.

Dooley was Maurice Couch's first call. Neither Kansas or USC called him.

It looks like Chris Jones may be leaning to the Vols now.

We appear to have gotten heavily in the mix for Sammy Watkins. Hinshaw will supposedly be at his game this week.

All these guys got calls from UT this morning:
Gabe Wright
Antonio Richardson
Mickey Johnson
Cameron Clear
Jessie Williams
Maurice Couch
Brendon Bigelow

These guys got calls this evening:
Justin Worley
DeAnthony Arnett
Tino Thomas

Per The Big Spur SC called Couch and he said that we are not in his top 5.

-Junior college defensive tackle Maurice Couch (Garden City, KS.) heard from South Carolina, Tennessee, and Troy today. Couch told us that Mangus told him how important he is to the program and how much of an impact he could have if he came to South Carolina. He is still set on visiting USC officially the weekend of the Bama game and that is when USC can really make a move. His top 5 right now, in order, are Kansas, Southern Cal, South Carolina, Ole Miss, and Oklahoma State.

other news:

-Safety Kadetrix Marcus (Stone Mountain, Ga./Stephenson) was contacted by South Carolina, Stanford, South Florida, Tennessee, and West Virginia today. Lorenzo Ward was the recruiter he talked too. Marcus said they talked about how things are going and just touching base on everything. Marcus is set up to visit USC for an official visit the weekend of the Georgia game. He said tonight that USC is still his leader. Tennessee is the team to watch out for here. He will be taking an official visit to Knoxville the weekend after the USC visit.

I mean Morell isn't making it up.... That was a direct quote..... We have a lot of work done to land Couch.

I won't be responsible but one of his best friends is a good friend of mine. I've been making him recruit for Tennessee.

Well, Volnation pays for performance only, if he doesn't sign with us then you won't get paid.

Have no idea on Asiata.

I do not think Tino is a take right now. We would have to miss on Walls, King, Countess, and Jones imo. I don't think he is in the upper tier group of DBs on our board. I'd put him with Chris Milton and Ronnie Harris.

LV and Jay...

Thanks for confirming my opinion on Tino -- I did not think he was a take (really not even close) right now, but seeing him on the "first day" call list for Dooley made me wonder if Tino had put on 50 lbs of muscle over the summer or something.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Tino will commit after his official visit and CDD will accept. No info, just a hunch

I think he is held in higher reguard than any of us actually think as evidenced by his 1 at day call from the head coach

Hubbs hinted at this in the War Room.

He's got a lot of potential. His stride is extremely short. And takes a lot of false steps in coverage. If they could improve on those two things he could be a pretty good player when it's all said and done.
