Serious question about a co-worker.

You should be careful about discussing or reporting this issue to others. I realize you haven't given a name, but I still believe your HR department would tell not to be discussing this issue with anyone regardless of whether or not you are posting it anonymously on a message board. It could come back to sting you and jeapordize your employment.

HR department....lol, no HR dept here.

There is tons of research in this type investigaton and possibly some baiting as well. From where I sit, I'd say they have their man.

I couldn't help but get a good chuckle at the thought of cd sitting behind a computer pretending to be a 13 year old girl in an internet chat room.

Well, if he is guilty, hang the sob.

This. To those saying lawyer up you guys disgust me almost as much. The term child porn should envoke some kind of "hang the bastard" response. Not a quick "don't talk to the cops" response. Do you care that toddlers raped in these photos for some piece of shi... pleasure? Only to act on his fantasies one day. I pray for all children including yours.

I agree with you that child porn is repulsive and among the worst of the worst of crimes, but you are automatically considering someone guilty just because he has been accused. Innocent people are arrested and accused of things everyday. I am thankful that we have a Constitution that protects us and states that we are innocent until proven guilty. If he did it, he will be punished in a court of law, but for you to convict him in the public without knowing anything other than him being accused is ignorant and disgusting.

I didn't convict him his peers handle that in court. Btw how is not talking going to help? If he didn't do it he should help the police figure out how it happened and if he did do it he should help the police capture the persons taking the photos to potentially save the child from further abuse.

Rule #1, don't ever talk to police without a lawyer. Trust me, cops spin things and once you make one inconsistent statement, the digging begins. They are trained to trap people into corners until they get answers they want. You hear about coerced confessions all the time that later turn out to be made up just so the person could make the interrogation stop. Believe how you want but I deal with it daily. Like I said before, if he did it he will be dealt with. I just value our Constitution.

Rule # 2. You are incorrect. It happens but very infrequently and there is no tricky interrogation training school you speak of. Yes inconsistencies are usually associated with lies and lies are usually associated with guilt.

From my vantage point it sounds like you've convicted him.

utter and complete falacy.

Oh really? Tell that to the people getting out of prison after 25 years being cleared by DNA for crimes they didn't commit.

"Better that ten guilty persons escape than that one innocent suffer"

I'd hate to be that one
