Serious question...

I know its easy to say "stars don't matter" but if you look at the top ranked teams year in and year out, there is a strong correlation with the top teams in the recruiting rankings each year.

It is what it is. TN doesn't need all five star players, but a team without a good number of the elite talent will generally be less successful on the field than the teams that get the top talent. Considering that TN generally plays some of the top teams in the recruiting rankings (UF, AL, UGA, LSU, etc.) recruiting elite talent is important to success at TN. JMO.

I'd agree with that NLV. I think some fans try to look at stars in a vacuum and it can't be done.

Boise State plays in the SEC?

No. They just beat teams like Oregon and OU. FTR, Utah doesn't play in the SEC either... and beat a good Bama team.

FTR, I don't think Boise has the depth needed to play week in, week out in the SEC and win. But the point is their low rated guys are making a habit of busting the noses of the big boys when depth can't hurt them.
