Needless to say, however, it has no bearing on his actual qualifications for the job, as he's demonstrated competence for years.

online,through the mail or over the phone.whats it matter,he is hired to be a coach not a teacher.Plus I have met some people with degrees that use them as a crutch and are still dumb as hell.

I don't care but I find it funny that people claim Cheek is trying to tear down the athletic department due to rigorous academic standards and then turns around and signs off on a baseball coach with a diploma that came from a diploma mill.

Does UT not offer adult education programs for anyone who WANTS to obtain a degree from a legitimate university, no matter how late in life?

It's not high school. Anyone can enroll in college and graduate with a diploma, no matter how old. You don't need an "adult education program."

....baseball is different since the players could start a minor league career instead of college...Serrano is more of a coach then a professor and he supposed to be.....most of these complaints are hypocritical, but a tribute to hats ability to get VN going....lets get back to arguing about the next AD, fulmer is sneaking around!!!!!

Lets hope he sneaks his way right to the head of athletic dept! With a great baseball hire, lets get this athletic dept back on track!

Adult Education is how some colleges refer to the degree programs they provide for any adult past college age.

I had the same reaction.

Just because we believe Cheek is working to destroy UT Athletics doesn't make us paranoid.
