Old School....I like it!

When I joined the AF my parents would mail Sunday news clippings to me at basic training. Then I was deployed in 98 when the Vols were making their run and read the articles 2 weeks after the game...then was in Korea to watch the NC game ....kids now days are lucky.

The government was shutdown after a vote that the democrats won.

Not so fast! We know the party responsible for the shutdown, the very same party that shut it down in '95, so you repubs just need to stop trying to blow smoke up the rational folks ass. At least our brave service men and women will continue to receive their pay checks. :bs::bs::scare:

So you are saying that passing an historic bill that overhauled healthcare in the US of A without reading it and without really knowing who wrote it was rational?

The only rational thing I'm seeing is that those who have been able to read it and understand the details, i.e. Congressional Staffers and Union Leaders, have worked to get themselves exempt. Now that was rational!

OP, quit yer belly-aching. Back in '92, when I was in Germany AFN showed two college games each Saturday, and I got to see the Vols only one time that year (Bama). And that was before the Internet! No streaming games either! It's so easy now:)

AF - This doesn't help you now but maybe someone, somewhere will take the idea and run with it.

Colleges in these fiscal austere times should join up to purchase satellite time. Have the satellite positioned to beam requested games to locations where troops are stationed for combat duty. Perhaps troops with computers that have TV tuners could enjoy more games. Towns could band together to purchase such computers for specific unit to show support for local folks in those units. The lucky soldier will naturally share his access with buds.

I know, I know, logistics and other obstacles would need to be whipped, but it's an idea I think would show genuine respect for those who serve. And it would be nice if colleges actually did something since a good number probably have alumni over seas as well.

Political schmucks- Someday, you may realize that all politicians are liars. They're in the game, yes, the game for themselves. It's all a game to exploit the "dumb masses" or "sheep" which some privately refer to citizens as being. Just look at the recent hot mic incident, it's all a game at citizens' expense. Most Tea Party chapters are fueled less by doing what's right than ethnocentrism and economic exploitive sponsors. Who just see a way to tap into emotionalism and line their pockets. I've been to large and smaller (covert) meetings in various locations and seen it.

I hope that everyone can get on a computer in the day room or something. Saturdays and Sundays When I was in active duty were fun times. Watching football and smack talking with one another. I hope this political mess gets fixed soon.
