Set down the kool aid for one second.

What are the chances we beat the Gators?

Everybody except Bama.

You never know, maybe Lane's stupidity gels by then.

Or maybe Bammer has a mental lapse.

Also, and I wasn't alive but my Grandfather/Father were, didn't TN break a Bama streak while being unranked and Bama #2 in the 80s? In Knoxville I think?

Georgia's passing game is better than UF's and the Vols held Mason and company in check. I don't see Florida scoring a lot of points unless it's due to Tennessee's miscues. Butch will continue to run HUNH and turn this game into a track meet. A defensive and field-position game favors Florida. I think the Vols score early, often, and win BIG.

I'm trying to be as objective as possible, but I really think we should beat Florida -- not that we will, but that we should. Yes, they have a good defense, a very good defense, and our OL is young, but we should be able to score because their defense can't carry the whole game for them. Their offense is not very good. If they go off, it's going to be because of Sunseri-level ineptness.

Now, it's Florida and Florida always beats us, so I know none of the normal rules apply. But if this staff knows how to coach and motivate, and they sure ought to, we should beat a team that is reeling and potentially in a fragile state of mind about their future and the future of their coaches. Florida is not so much better than us talent wise that they can demolish us. We have enough talent to beat them. If the coaching staff can really coach, we ought to win next week.

If we lose, I will be disappointed enough to begin questioning the staff. It's time to exorcise this demon. If we can't do it now it's not happening for a good while longer.

It will come down to us not turning the ball over! Their Offense can score they just are not great at it. However their Defense is good, so in my opinion it will come down to turnovers and Special Teams, and that worries me a little.

I agree with this. TN has a better offense and defense too IMO. Florida's defense has not really proven themselves, and we'll stop their offense in its tracks (I think AJ and Cam will be out for blood)

This is the first year since 2005 that I've thought we had the better team.

We should win, but the better team doesn't always win. We are certainly due a win in this series. If we don't win I will be extremely disappointed but so far I have no doubt this program is headed in the right direction.

Spot on!! It is time we win this, I believe we have been a patient group for the most part. It is time to turn the streak around.:pepper::dance2::rock:

Two programs moving in opposite directions, and that's at a lot of levels. The simple fact is that the Gators are virtually no threat at downfield passing or even complicated progressions for short gains. Add in the noise level and the quit I expect to see when UF's offense is so anemic that the defense is exhausted towards end of the third.

Watch Robinson's body language. If he continues to be frustrated by the dullard we have at QB and doesn't mind showing that, well, that's the sign of the team giving up.

What's interesting is that most Dawg fans now think we'll beat the Gators. The benefit of playing so many freshmen is that our young guys don't have the Gators in their head. They don't expect to lose-- and they really don't expect to lose at home, because they never have.

Serious question for you (no trolling promise)

Are the Florida fans about at the same place we were at with Dooley two years ago around week 8? Or is there still at little hope being that Muschamp can turn the ship around since he has had some decent seasons.

Thank you LG... yours was one of the opinions I was looking for, classy as always...

You all are failing to temper my expectations. It seems that as the attitude of the team has changed, so has that of the fan base.

Just like we don't get to win just because our name is Tennessee niether does Florida. I get why many feel that way, but I would take our team and coaches 100 times out of 100 over the gators. JMO

Yes but only 1 time is what counts

Call me a negavol or what ever I really don't care, but I see MAYBE a 30% shot of winning this one on Saturday.

I want to believe I really do, I want think that we will pull out all the stops to beat Florida, but I just don't see our offensive obstacle stopping the Florida pass rush now.

I actually felt comfortable enough to place a bet on Utah State, and Arkansas State, and Georgia won all 3 but I won't wager any money on this game at all.

I would up our chances to 50% if Josh Smith, and Von Pearson were going to be back.

I think a lot of it depends on which offensive coordinator shows up as well. The one that we saw in the first and 4th quarters against Georgia or the one that took his foot off of the gas when we were up by ten.

No more trying to be high class about victories or letting off of the gas, if what we are doing is working don't stop until the defense forces us to, and if we hang 70 points on a team in the mean time so what.

I guess my thought is if we come out to play 60 minutes of winning football instead of get the lead and protect it then maybe we will have a shot.

I actually think you are on to something legit here.....
We have so many kids who simply do not get the Gator-type jinx we seem to have had, they will go out in Neyland with the taste of GA still in their mouths and want to get a Win.... This could be a very interesting game....

Similar but I do feel like Florida's fall from grace has been more abrupt. Quicker. Which has led in a way I think to most Florida fans being like me. The highs and lows are exaggerated.

I suppose one can never say never. And so Muschamp theoretically can turn it around in the next 2 months. But I'm very skeptical.

Look at the transfers from UF at QB. Those kids knew that Muschamp isn't going to give up on Driskel, no matter what. I really don't get it.

Honestly we should put a beat down on them. 21 point win or so but it probably won't happen. I think we win by 7.

Okay, I can see that. Our decline was more gradual as we went down the spiral. While yours was within a single season falling off a cliff.

Who do you think would win if Georgia played Florida next week? I think we're pretty close to Ga.

driskel maybe a bad qb but he ran all over us in 2012. he could do it again saturday.

As is said in the Dr. Pepper playoff commercial "all those other seasons - they don't count!"

I expect our front seven to be out for blood, especially since their weakness is generally: runs outside the hash marks

More like 2-3 seasons. Fans paying attention realize Florida caught about 20 breaks in a row, plus a few miracles, in 2012.

Seen this movie before. MANY times. Yall are getting your hopes WAY too high. There have been MANY times that UT shouldve whooped the lizards only to lose in the end.

I'll Contain myself until we actually beat those pricks!
