Shake Up in the Starting Lineup, Williams calls out Harris

Some of it is lack of effort. Other part is they were extended too far out on the court most of the time. They needed to make it tougher on those guards, the spacing was terrible.

I kept waiting for them to adjust their defense and it never happened. I don't understand that.

Could be that whole head coach being suspended thing.

What's hard to understand? That would require making game adjustments. You should know by now that we don't do that. We'll have to look at the film---starting to sound like Fulmer.

How's that a stretch? At least Williams can take up space. Tatum gives up more baskets than Williams, NEVER rebounds, and constantly overlooks open shooters.

Against Fla, ignore the ball and just watch Tatum for one of his rotations. He's pitiful on both ends.

That's wrong. Williams is much, much more of a liability defensively than Tatum. He can certainly play significantly better than he currently is.

agreed tobias was a little off playing defense but saying that big brian is a senior but his game is wore than last year ,he needs to quit calling people out until he stars shooting better at the line and the field and plays more defense himself.this team reminds me of one year i playen in highschool and my freshman year of collage we played good to great against good teams but when we played poor teams we played to their level and you all must see this we beat pitt on road and nova in the guarden and dog whipped memphis ,but against oakland c of c usc arky certain players were playing i ball not team ball and plaing i ball want beat a poor team playing team ball, coach pearl knowes something is wrong he should see the problem it is easy, scotty wants to be the man over tobias cause he is a uperclassmen and him and cam shoot alot of poor 3 point shots ,and he should quit playing 12 players because that is causing players to try crappy shots because they know they only have a limited number of minuets ,play starting 5 then play golden and /or fields/mayamon or bone if he is fully healed .stop playin pearl,mc cant play, rutledge boy who at best are a d 2 ,and hall is so weak in the knees he cant move,8 player rotation maby 9 no more

Brian Williams lecturing Tobias on defense is akin to Eddie Curry imploring Amar'e to hit the boards harder.

I disagree. Watch players, not the ball. Tatum can't rebound at all with another player nearby. Any player can drive by him at will. There is no way in hell that "Williams is much, much more of a liability". That's crazy talk. He's sorry, but so is Tatum. Tatum can't even pass the freakin ball to a wide open shooter, plus on fast breaks he ALWAYS holds the ball too long. Williams' defensive busts just stand out more because they're always around the rim.

Agree to disagree. Williams makes me want to vomit when I watch him defensively.

The defensive as a unit lacks intensity. The only player willing to attempt to fight through a screen is Goins. Everyone else goes into their tap dance routine and abandons their man completely. You can lose Scotty with just setting up a screen - actually using it is optional.

If he's one of the leaders on this team, that clearly explains why our season is not going anywhere.

of course it does.

bwill, I just said that to provide the extra motivation that this board brings. Preesh on the read - you too Griff.

Correct. I've heard plenty about BW and his work ethic and attitude... And none of it is positive.

McBee was seen making some adjustments to Tatum's 3 point shot. Told him to stop focusing on mechanics and to "just sling it".

I don't understand why it's a problem that Williams called him out on it. No, Williams isn't playing well, in fact much worse than Harris. But isn't it Williams's job as a leader to keep everyone in check? IMO, he is one of the most qualified on the team to make such a statement.

Williams just lets his play do the talking for him. That's why every one should listen when Williams speaks.
