Just picked up The Sound of Madness. You need to return whatever disc you have and get a copy of the real Shinedown CD. While there are some "ligher"/ballad-style songs on the album, that is no departure from their earlier works. However, there are many tracks that are actually 1. MUCH HEAVIER than older Shinedown stuff. Overall, this is probably the most aggressive piece they have released.

Lamb of God? No. But "poppy," you've lost your mind.

Everyone hears music differently and I think that this album produces a much more softer side of Shinedown. Is that bad, no. I haven't bashed the album nor the band for them producing the softer tracks, so I guess instead of the word "poppy" I should have said more "contemporary".

1. As far as much heavier, I didn't hear anything "MUCH HEAVIER" on this one than I did on Leave a Whisper. Both albums seem to be on the same road, but this one has a couple more softer songs.

Did you even read the other posts I made or are you stuck on the word "poppy"?? Replace that word with the word contemporary and then read my posts if your must. In fact I will do it for you since I made a grammatical and judgment error in using the word I used that got all the Shinedown fans riled up. I apologize.

Yes. Since the renovation, I've seen 10 Years with Fair to Midland and another local show. GREAT sound system. Open, with carpet and decent acoustics. No smoking inside. Wide open on the floor. Small upstairs balcony. There were some good pits going on at the 10 Years show. I don't think you'll be disappointed, at all.

I've picked up the Shinedown CD's and have really liked what I've heard. I really, really like TOAD. "Heaven" hauntingly reminds me of my best friend. They should be great, too. I have a decent little group coming to the show. I'd like to meet up, so PM me.
