Shooting in the Fort

With so many recruits and fans checking the web tonight in anticipation of signing today tomorrow posting this had to seem like a great idea. I mean really dude how dumb can you be?

Especially with you adding "on campus shooting" in the title thread with no idea of where the shooting actually took place. Now we've learned it wasn't even on campus. Jeeez

I've got to question the decision making skills of a mod who would leave a thread up knowing that the thread topic is misleading and potentially very damaging to the university. Especially when it comes to something like a shooting.

I mean verocitaloper or whatever that name is just posted that he knows it was off campus yet he allows this thread to remAin and says he would have posted the same thing. The damn thread title says on campus shooting.

First off, you need to get all the facts straight before you go running off at the mouth at people for making a legitimate thread for a legitimate story.

Second...
The campus was warned for it's proximity to the shooting.

"UT sent out an alert to students, warning them that a person with a firearm had been reported at 13th Street and Highland Avenue."

It was even tweeted about...

KPD Sgt. Mike McCarter just confirmed to me there were three victims transported from the shooting near Highland Terrace apartments.

KPD PIO Darrell DeBusk says it's safe on campus now. Said it's not "a random event."

Third..
I know a particular individual who just got an email warning for their actions in this thread.

Oh wait, I see...

...you don't care bout the university; you don't care about a shooting. You're just worried that one of our recruits is going to renege on his commitment tomorrow morning because he happens to see a thread about a shooting near campus the night before. Great job.

I care, thanks for keeping the thread Verc!

Umm no. I care about the lack of common sense. That is what concerns me.

I don't give a crap about how you guys want to paint me but dang what if someone trolling for some last minute recruiting info spotted this and slammed it across ESPN or the AJC tomorrow morning.

Are you telling me that if you were an out of state recruits parent you wouldn't tell your kid to hold up until you figured out what was going on? Again, common sense.

You know what's common sense? A shooting near the UT campus is way more important than football recruiting. Your priorities are broken.

Update

The Knoxville Police Department will file multiple charges against a 25-year-old man in connection with a shooting last night in Fort Sanders that left three people injured.

Brandon Middlebrook, one of the victims, will be charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, one charge of aggravated robbery, and a charge of possessing a firearm in the commission of the felony. His bond was set at $1,015,000. Middlebrook is currently being treated at UT Medical Center.

Middlebrook is accused of shooting two people inside an apartment at Highland Terrace Apartments near 13th Street and Highland Avenue at 8:11 p.m. last night. The two victims suffered multiple gunshot wounds and are being treated at UT Medical Center. One of the victims is a current student.

KPD is still investigating and more charges could be filed. Anyone with information about this incident should contact the department at 865-215-7212.

Weird.

One of the first people to post in this thread and now it turns out (pretty confident) this shooting occurred in the exact apartment me and my old college buddy lived in about 17 years ago.

Guy next to me in class is the next-door neighbor to the guy who got shot. He says there are bullet holes outside his door. He says it was a robbery for money and drugs.
