Former Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville told ESPN his 2004 Tigers should be declared the BCS national champs retroactively after Southern California was forced to vacate that title today.

they did go undefeated and as we know the SEC has dominated title games since 06

why? No one is going to have a re-vote. Just no NC in 2004 and be done with it. Auburn can still keep their people's championship

I can't give the BCS championship, a trophy and title won by winning the BCS National Championship Game, to a team that didn't play in it.

Auburn continues to forget that they were 3rd in the BCS standings when the regular season ended.

USC and Oklahoma were way better than Auburn. No one deserves the BCS, but if one team has to be picked, it's Oklahoma.

The AP championship still belongs to USC, so USC are still the only national champs for that year.

Still would've rather seen Auburn in the title game rather than watch that 55-19 beatdown that OU received. Auburn still would've lost to USC, but I think they were more deserving a spot than OU.

Dear God, THIS. They were voted third, and they didn't play in the national championship game. I wish they'd all shut the hell up. IF, anyone else was awarded the crystal ball, why wouldn't it be Oklahoma? That said; USC won, and cheated their way there. Add an asterisk and call it a day. In my opinion, that's way more embarrassing than trying to strip a mythical championship from a team that aleady lived through it. It's like telling someone that their family vacation last year didn't happen. They still have the memories, pictures, and souvenirs to prove that it did. Ridiculous.

Good analogy. But my analogy would be a guy has sex with a most beautiful woman who happens to be married. All of his friends know it. He is the man. This woman meets him ever so often to renew their 'relationship'. The guy's legend grows. Other women flock to the guy. He pretty much has his pick of the ladies for about 5 years or so.Then the original woman's husband finds out, beats the crap out of the guy and that affair ends. Doesn't take a thing away from all of the good times he had with her or diminish the experiences with all the ladies that flocked to him.

Didn't OU lose to Kansas St in their conference championship game and still get into the NC? I'm pretty sure that happened.
