Should CCM redshirt B Lopez and G Campbell?

That's right. Thank you for clarifying!

Chris that little rule put out by Dave Hart has to be revisited coming up. It needs to be 16 at the very least. With all the injuries that occur it makes it impossible to field a decent practice squad. So that rule is going to have to be changed.

Teams practice against each other all the time. This isn't some new epidemic.

Ohh and btw don'l be running around knocking the walk ons. It was nice to have walk on Skylar McBee knock down the game winning shot against Kansas who was ranked #1. It was nice to have all those walk ons in that elite 8 year when 4 scholarship players were suspended for 8 games. And ohh yeah it was nice to have Josh Bone against Ole Miss lock down Chris Warren for 10 mins and hit a big 3 as well in that game after scholarshop PG Bobby Maze couldn't go anymore. It was nice to have former walk on Jajuan Smith knock down a flurry of rainbow 3s to seal the SEC title in Gainesville in 2008. And Bone btw hit another big shot against Georgia 2 years ago on the road. And it was nice to redshirt Steven Pearl and get a valuable role player for 4 years that once again came in handy when those 4 scholarship players were suspended. Go Vols!

There's no point! And as mentioned many times it usually requires kids to pay an extra year of school and can mess up their class scheduling.

Well let me tell you at this point UT is down to 10 scholarship players because 3 of their scholarship players are on the shelf. UT may not be able to even think about redshirting Lopez because he may end up having to play. Now if the 10 can stay healthy he most likely won't have to play. But if we get into an overtime game with a Georgetown or Virginia (for example) and we have guys foul out or get into foul trouble then Lopez and/or Rob Murphy may have to go in and give the Vols meaningful minutes. And I understand they would have to pay an extra year if they redshirted. But you know its their choice if they wanted to gain a 5th year. Or they might need an extra year to help finish up.

This just makes no sense. These guys will never see the floor anyways.

CAVol I hope you're right. I hope everyone stays healthy from here on out and Murphy and Lopez are just used as practice players. But hey right now we are down to 10 scholarship players. Miss. St. is down to 8. Reality is the Vols are an injury or 2 away from possibly those guys seeing playing time. So you and Zansdad can laugh and everyone else but don't think that scenario couldn't play out and quite likely it will.

You realize Mcbee was brought in under the impression he'd see the floor and would get a scholarship right?

Lopez and Murphy aren't under the same circumstances.

Same for Bone and Smith dude.

And Pearl was daddy's son, no reason to give him a scholarship, oh wait he did end up with a scholarship...

Once again...do you really see golden, Mcbee, McRae, josh and Armani all going down in the same game? C'mon man, this just doesn't make any sense.

I'm lost, how many players do you need to play basketball? I thought it only takes 5.

And if Lopez couldn't get PT last year when CCM was desperately searching for backup PG minutes, he will never see the floor during meaningful parts of the game.

GREAT point.

We were scrambling last year, we even experimented with Maymon some...all that and still Lopez didn't see the floor.
