Have seen or heard of kids getting serious lifelong injuries from fireworks.

There should be stronger restrictions but it's one of Americas biggest traditions, so doubt it will ever happen. The amount of waste that is produced from 4 of july is really amazing, from the parades to the fireworks. May as well call it National Litter All Over Your City day.

In Pennsylvania you can sell fireworks, but Pennsylvania residents can't buy them. Figure that out.

Easy revenue with a (slightly lower) instance of people who ought to be culled showing up in the ER sans insurance with no fingers.

No, I don't believe a recreational item many people safely enjoy should be banned because a small number of dumbasses hurt themselves with said item.

The first time I bought and shot mortars my immediate thought was "This is LEGAL!?!??!?"

I'm a big kid pyro at heart.

I like watching them and don't mind the neighbors shooting them off on the fourth or New Year's Eve...... but it gets on my nerves when they start shooting them a week before and continue a week after.

There are some bung holes firing them off right now.... it freaks my dog out

I've seen a number of significant pediatric injuries, often due to the overactive teenage Y Chromosome. I've also been first-hand with a number of near-misses (mortar dropped upside down in a tube, missiles knocked over and shooting sideways, small fires, etc). There's a decent amount of explosive in the big projectiles!

Someone here has been shooting them since dark. And just quit around 11. Surprisingly, our dog didn't freak out.

They will never be banned here in Northwest Alabama as the Andersons (ex-Vol Carson's family) own TNT Fireworks and make millions selling to,all the rednecks that live here.

It's illegal in Nashville but not in several neighboring counties. It's a source of frustration for some people when they are concerned about noise and fire and the police tell them the law will not be enforced unless it's an egregious violation. What's egregious is completely subjective. I'm in the camp that if the law isn't going to be enforced it needs to be repealed.
