Sunday night they were shooting them off in my neighborhood on the street behind my house. There's a slim patch of woods between the back yards of the houses on my street and the ones behind us. The people about three houses down were shooting off freaking mortars or something that sounded like cannon fire.
They stopped at 10:30, but then at midnight I heard KABOOM!!.... I got up and went out on the back porch and could hear them laughing and talking.... then KABOOM!!!!..... I walked across the neighbor's yards until I was right behind their house..... keep in mind there is a strip of woods between the yards and a rock ledge so it's difficult even during the day to traverse.... they shot off another smaller one and then my immaturity took over..... I said "alright you stupid MFs it's after midnight"..... they got really quiet and started asking each other "did you hear that?"... they packed up and went inside.....
Or the people that shoot the damn things off after midnight need to get up at 4 am like I do, or let me repay the favor when I'm off and let them get 3-4 hours of sleep.
No offense, but you aren't the only one up at 4am.
I just think it's a little silly to get upset over something you/we all did as kids too.
I can't believe none of you guys posting on here about this didn't do anything to drive your neighbors crazy as kids.
We have a guy in our neighborhood (about 300 houses), he owns a recruiting company that focus mainly on Walmart suppliers and executives for Walmart..
He puts on a show, and spends between $40K and $50k a year on it..
He has 7-8 guys on the cart path behind his house, and they set them off for 40-45 minutes....It's impressive and rivals most of the city shows in the area
No, but I could see restricting them to New Years and July 4th (maybe Labor Day and Memorial Day).
A group of us put in and spend about $1200 on fireworks (mostly mortars) and shoot them off on the 4th. It's tradition. We don't shoot them off any other time and are usually done by 10-10:30. The neighbors are good with it and come out to enjoy the show. After all is said and done we clean up the mess.
It's all about being respectful of others.

My apologies. I wasn't aware I was in the presence of a perfect adult male...
