Yes. With the glaring deficiencies in our offensive structure, we'd be much better off with him simply taking the bulk of the shots. We are never going to generate good looks out of our offensive sets because, quite frankly, they all suck.

What happened to the reckless abandon we played with on D 3 years ago ? Would solve a lot of the issues... we would have atleast 20 points off steals and transission.

Definitely, Freak. I can't believe we can't integrate something on the perimeter to get him more looks.

Of course! If the man could dribble, he'd be a 1st round pick.

Yes he should, but I would also like to see him drive to the basket more. When it's all said and done he should be the one taking most of the shots

We should just let him shoot every shot in the halfcourt set. It couldn't be any worse than what we are doing on offense right now

Definitely yes. Any possession where Harris or Hopson don't touch the ball is a bad possession.

I have a lot of concern for Coach Pearl and his teams. I am not knocking his coaching because being a top coach at a big school is tough. Great coaches are not out waiting on the corner waiting for UT to call. This is football country, period. My concerns are with Coach Pearls recruits. I do not see mature leadership from the older kids. Dana Bradshaw was the last truly mature leader at UT. Our players are really immature. Scotty is good. Scotty is great driving to the basket. He did it in hs but now college is tougher. This is his best game though. Brian is now playing like a good sophomore. He just hasn't been in organized ball that long. A senior at Duke has been playing 10 years. Brian does not have a chance to be great in just 4 years. There is nobody that can do that. UT gets a lot of transfers. I see a lot of immaturity in these kids. They can't stick it out so they transfer. Again, I see a lot of immaturity which relates to consistency on the court. I have only seen UT in person 4 times in my life. My last game was Kentucky-UT in 2009. The kid from Kentucky scored 54 I believe. I watched UT warm up sloppily and their immaturity showed. The UT upper classmen need to develop a higher level of maturity but you only have 4 years to do so. As you know, Coach Fulmer developed a lot of maturity by sitting players on the bench 2 years.

I feel like he gives the ball up way too early sometimes. Once he gives it up, he never gets it back. I feel like he definitely needs to be the one taking the shot as the shot clock is winding down. He is the best on the team at creating his own shot and the most athletic. He just desperately needs to work on his ball handling skills so he can take the ball to the hole without turning the ball over. I think that is why he is hesitant sometimes about taking the ball to the rack. I believe ball handling is the only skill he lacks in becoming a super elite player. If he is ever able to conquer this aspect of his game, his confidence will soar, and I think you will see him take more shots.

Scotty has really played well in SEC play. That 48.8 number leads the league. Even with his flaws, Hopson getting off a lot of shots will yield far better results than just about anything else we van do.

I know what you're doing here freak. You're trying to stimulate more intelligent discussion and get away from the pointless arguments...stop it. Those are fun to read.

I would like for him to shoot more in the last 20 seconds for sure but you have to want the ball.

If we had any other coach Scotty would be getting at least five more shots up a game. Instead our coaches stick with a system that doesn't fit the players.

I like Scotty but I believe he dreams of making the winning shot every game. Well, you have to play hard the other 39:59 also. He doesn't bring the intensity every night to deserve to be "the man". Also Coach Bruce Pearl has lost something this year in his handling of his players (with what he is going through that can be expected) maturity on the court. But the way this team is playing now I would rather see Scotty have the last shot as anybody else.

i would like to see him drive, and dish more. Everytime he drives, he draws a double team, someone has to be open. Yea, i know,we have no one that can make an open 3. Hopson is our best option. Cam is the mystery man, if he could shoot 45%, we are prob undefeated in the SEC right now.

Yes. It wouldn't bother me if he had 15-20 FGA every game, with the way he is playing and the lack of play from everybody else.
