Chant.? With the whole nation watching, how does that make the SEC look with just pure, unadulterated classlessness?!
When you have a Commissioner that fines and threatens suspensions for a Coach to point out publicly, the glaring gaffes of officials that just put them one step closer to the hotseat...why in the world should this conference or the NCAA allow a team to blantantly demonstrate a gross act of unsportsmanship for the whole world to see? That chant absolutely HAD to hurt future ratings. Why would viewers outside the SEC want to watch SEC games if they perceive the SEC to be this arrogant and classless. That chant hurt the SEC bigtime last night...cause if I was outside the SEC area, I would've been turned off in a major way.

I think Slive needs to warn Saban that every time the fans in the stands chant that absurd garbage, the Alabama Athletic Dept. will be fined in excess of $50,000.

They have shown all of America that they are the ugly Hairy @$$ of the SEC and the NCAA. Although I was rooting for the SEC last night...I found myself rooting for Texas most of the game, cause I just can't stand that bunch of inbred hicks.

Players get penalized in the game for taunting, yet the Bammer fans get away with the most gross display of Unsportsmanship every game. I think it's high time the SEC and NCAA step in and put a stop to it. There is just no place for it...especially when they continue to push sportsmanship so heavily in the league.

That's what they do when they win. They won the National Championship. Nothing wrong with that.

not unless they sanction them for the other million times they've done it.

It is classless, yes, but the NCAA shouldn't get involved in that sort of thing.
I know some Bama fans that despise that cheer. .
Gene Stallings thought it was classless and when he was coach he banned the cheer. That is the only Bama coach I have ever had respect for (but I still hate Bama, just because its Bama)

Ok? I guess UT should get sanctioned for playing Rocky Top after they won the NC. How about the FSU chop/cut throat a certain receiver was doing after that game?

I actually enjoyed seeing Alabama fans display what whitetrash class douchebags they are on national tv. I didn't see a problem with it. I mean they are what they are.

Why would there be a punishment? Because they say hell? Because they hurt the losing team's feelings? I hate Bama and hearing that chant, but there is nothing going on here meriting sanctions.

The Rammer Jammer has been endless discussed on most BAMA boards. I would say the love\hate splits about 50\50. How would the NCAA or SEC stop it when they can't\won't stop the use of cowbells? The best way to stop the Rammer Jammer is to beat BAMA.

Should we have been reprimanded for chanting f*** you Bama at the 2006 home game? I was there and it was loud and it came across TV too.

I say who gives a flying crap. They deserve it they are the National Champs.

Really that many of you hate it? I thought you all loved it. Didn't like 98 percent of students vote for keeping it?

It is simple; if you don't want to hear it then beat them.
While that's true, it is still an embarrassing bunch of redneck crap. If Tennessee fans did that after a win I would be ashamed to be a Volunteer. Does the phrase "act like you've been there before" ring a bell?

Did they say this cheer when Bear Bryant was there? Not that it really matters.

I agree with 2 other posters...just beat 'em and we don't have to worry about hearing it.

You seriously need to get your panties out of the twist they're in...it could cause permanent damage if you leave em that way too long. :ermm:

Really dude...not that big of a deal.
Alabama= white trash. So? What's new?
