No because its funnier when the teams that beat them chant their own chant back in their face with "go to hell alabama" at the end. And yes Neyland has done this before.

Rammer jammer go to hell alabammer is a retort and a lot less denigrating than the "we just beat the hell outa you" chant..

Should we have been reprimanded for chanting f*** you Bama at the 2006 home game? I was there and it was loud and it came across TV too.

I say who gives a flying crap. They deserve it they are the National Champs.

I was there. Had more to do with a UT player being hurt, and Bama fans chanting "Ala...Bama...Ala....Bama" while he laid on the field.

Coker IIRC.

Not that, that justified it, but anyway...

I would rather the chant be put out to pasture. I think it's unsportsmanlike. I prefer that the band would play and crowd would sing the "Yea Alabama" fight song.

You sir, are a rare and unusual voice of reason from the Tide nation.

So I have a question about the origin of this chant. Did they start it for UT? Everywhere I've seen it, it seems the default lyrics are, "Hey Vols."

Folks in the SEC know the tradition. I wonder what Texas folks were thinking last night.

Not that I'm standing up for 'Bama or anything but that is like banning Rocky Top like some mentioned...

How so? Yelling "We just beat the Hell out of you!"...has NO place in NCAA athletics. So just where is that kind of classless unsportsmanship in Rockytop?

Again...players that taunt others on the field get a personal foul penalty...and I think the SEC needs to step in and tell Saban and company that sort of conduct is not wlecome at all. Ole Miss' Chancellor Banned some racial-based chant from their fans, this season. I can't remember what it was and what the punishment is/was.

It's just way over the line, and with the SEC trying to reach the rest of the country, how can you do that when you have Alabama chanting "We just beat the Hell outta You!" immediately following the NC game? It just reinforces their stereotype that everyone from the South is a bunch of Redneck Hicks like Bama fans. That gives the SEC a black eye...no two ways about it.

What's funny is they just BARELY escaped a loss from us by the skin of their teeth...and then they proceed to yell they beat the hell out of us? Go figure.

It's just not that big a deal. I've heard much worse chants in Neyland

Wow...Our song talks approvingly of killing federal agents, so I guess I feel like I am in a glass house on this one.

It's only at the end of the game and that's only if we win. Rocky Top is played after every UT first down, touchdown, tackle for loss, etc. Get over it.
