that Fla has 4 ***** commits; 12 **** commits and only 5 *** commits and all we have is 3 **** commits and a slew of *** commits.

Should this worry us or will CPF and staff develop our *** star guys into 4/5* guys.

We're already on a three year losing streak to them, last thing we need is for them to get a leg up on talent on us.

original poster i can't wait till the people come on here and say stars don't matter. I find it intriguing that they get their stars in the first place. I guess we have better players right now than florida according to some members on here.

Like it would matter if we had 5 star recruits anyway!

Those kids would just end up getting arrested!!!!

Worrying won't change things. I think it is important to keep in mind that recruiting rankings are pretty speculative. We have had fabulous recruiting rankings that never amounted to anything. As long as we keep some level of talent, we'll be competitive enough to win. Execution and game planning are major factors too, not just recruit stars. Sports wouldn't be very exciting if it just came down to that.

i'm just glad we don't have all freshman teams anymore.

all those stars are so bright, i doubt we could even see the field.

this year's recruiting class will have little to zero affect on this september's game.

so no im not worried.

I don't think anyone is saying that this year's batch of recruits are going to tell the story in 2008, but what about 2009 or, more importantly, 2010?

I'm more concerned about Superman(TT) myself. Somebody needs to plant something in his car, a gun, crack, or something so we don't have to fool with him.Oh never mind. I forgot the Gainesville PD was employed by UF.:)

Yes, because Florida has never had recruiting classes ranked ahead of UT before.

I mean, damn, why play the game? Rivals.com says that UF is the most talented team. Let's just not play games and let recruiting rankings determine the winner.

Oh no oh God, Tennessee doesn't have the star average Florida has.

Look at 02, 03, 04, 05, 06. Where's the talent gap? None of those games where blowouts. Regardless of who won, it wasn't a huge loss.

One game does not dictate a huge talent gap.

Thats a good point...and I think we improved while they played one of their best games all year...

One might even say they peaked that game...I don't remember them looking that good against anyone else...so its easy to put too much into that game...

But based off of that one game....the gap looked quite substantial

But you can't base it off of one game. If you could, the transitive property would work in football.

I remember lawgator saying we got beat so bad because of the talent gap....just couldn't explain the Georgia loss.

Well, Florida lost that game by if memory serves 12 points (as opposed to 39). And UGA's win was the first of about 8 for them in a row last year. No one seriously argues but that they got a lot better as the season wore on. UT did, too.

All I'm saying is that it was my impression watching our game last year that Florida was just faster and more athletic than UT and by a wide margin. I could certainly be wrong on that. Just giving my opinion.

No you were wrong. Had you been right, UGA would have lost by what, 80 points to UF?

People seem to forget that we were right in the game before a stupid turnover in the 3rd quarter against FL. And then the team did what I hate most, quit. And Meyer saw his chance and pounced. Plus TN historically doesn't start out too well (minus Cal last year). I think FL gets it together sooner than we do.
And yes FL has more talent. But I don't see that talent getting developed enough to have a better season then we did this year either. Who was in the SEC championship game?

But everyone quit whining about recruiting. It's all over the place. Why don't you fools worry more about Fulmer and the coaching staff and how they can develop players? A 3 star player, is still a da#$ good football player. There is always an element of luck involved, and look at how many 4 and 5 stars don't pan out. Exposure (as previously mentioned) also plays a huge role. It's just like anything else in our God forsaken country. It's all about the media and the hype. You tell me that Poole isn't one of the top 20 RB's coming out of high school this year (like your Godly recruiting services of which so many of you clueless fools solely base everything on) and I'll tell you you are an idiot.
