Vols usually win if they make a few shots via 3-4 double digit scorers. They have problems when only 1 or 2 are on. Effort and defense is never their problem. They overcome bad refs by pure tough hustle. Sometimes, it just ain't your day.

This team overachieved to reach to with 30 games and reach the Elite 8. There were only 7 guys in the rotation that were in the rotation and there wasn't a real scoring threat in the post. This may have been Barnes' best coaching job to get this much out of the talent on this team.

We got beat by better opponents, not the refs. Calls even out throughout the year. More scoring consistency will cure many of our ills.

OP, this is ridiculous. A team has to win 6 games to win it all…no matter the seed (Im excluding play-in teams for the sake of the police on here).

And at least a few of those games are going to be against a really good team.

Seeding didn’t kill the Vols. Houston killed the Vols.

I really don't understand the seedings. Auburn lost 3 of 4 going into the tournament but were #1 overall. Florida won the SEC Tournament and won 6 straight going into the tournament and they were 4th.

I have it on good authority that Sankey personally rigged the whole thing and ESPN, NCAA, Congress, the ref’s, and Canada all conspired against us. Wake up to the truth. I’ll elaborate later on my podcast once I get a signal in my basement.

They got farther than I thought they would. You can't have a first half like the Houston game. Game was won in the first 10 minutes. Vols finished about where they should of.. I don't think they would have beat any of the 1 seeds. Would have had the best chance against Auburn of the 4.

Auburn won the SEC regular and were the best team for most of the season. They made the Final 4 and lost a really close game. The seeds aren’t just about who is hottest, otherwise they would rank all the conference tournament winners with the top seeds and start the at large berths once those 30 something teams were seeded.

I thought we had a great bracket. Maybe if our big man had not been on the bench all season, we could have gained a higher seed. In any case, Houston beat us because they hit shots, and we did not. The Houston game was lost in the first five minutes.

Trust me I was really hoping to see Tennessee in the FF but it was really a dream.
I never felt they could win it all.

I’ll just say that there was a certain point in the season where I thought Florida had the best team in the country. I changed my mind during the tournament and believed it to be Duke, but Houston took care of that.

However, on a side note, of the last 8 games that were played, 6 of those 8 games were against teams that were in kenpom’s top 10. One of those not in that group was the back to back reigning national champion.

As much as any title Florida has won in any sport, this was earned

Final 4 was probably our ceiling and we likely would’ve had it had we not lost one of @ Vandy/@Ole Miss/vs Kentucky and secured a 1 seed. Back to back years we are shown how important getting that 1 seed can be.

In reality were we about the 5 or 6th best team though.

We finished about where we were expected. Would have loved a final 4, but I am happy.

Florida, Duke and Houston were playing their best BBall at the end of the year. If we played Houston again I think we could beat them, but Houston, Duke and Florida would have been a really tough stretch.
