You must have missed his senior year. Should have been benched for someone with a set of nuts

I did miss his senior year.

His junior year though, 73 rec 1083 yds 9 TDS. Those yards were good for 25th in nation. Receptions per game, 36th.

Clearly should have benched him.

It's easy to say that when you are just another one of the fans who has to vicariously live through his successes on the field since you lack the physical ability, and maybe even the "nuts" to fill his shoes. You go tear your acl, have a kid, and then have all of the thoughs of ruining those opportunities run through your head. All while, once again, fans like yourself, are judging your every move like it's the end of the world and expecting you to perform like a pro when you are really only 20 years old. But maybe I'm wrong.

First of all, I should have said his FINAL year.

2nd of all, the fans money PAID for his education in exchange of him playing football for the University of Tennessee. Not sissy flag football, SEC football. Don't make excuses for "the millionaire kid", he can do that all by himself.

Clearly. Stats don't show the 3rd down drops at critical times during the game.

Moron. He was a Junior, but if you find his senior tape...by all means let us know.

If stating his last, final year as his senior year makes me a moron, then I'm okay with it.

Bottom line: Hunter played scared and it will cost him millions. Can he make up for the loss of money? Sure.

"Critical times" implies important plays where a catch/drop would greatly affect the outcome of games, no?

If not, what else do you mean by critical times?

I can't remember the specific game because last year is a blur of suckage but we were down just a few and needed to score late to tie and he dropped a wide open slant route across the middle. I think it was either GA or SC. he also had a deep bomb go through his fingers.

he did drop a lot of passes and was nor the same post injury.

it is what it is.

gotta be honest though if I had millions riding on me and went down already in a complete fluke and witnessed lattimore go down again I may be a little nervous too.

Our fanbase is ruthless on our best players and idolize our marginal players...

It is but I've noticed that this site is probably the hardest of all on everyone. Probably because it's larger and more active but I do wish we could be more positive overall.

Once again, It's very easy for you to say all of these things when all you do is watch the game from your recliner and snack on some "nuts".

I gotta admit, seeing these guys go this high will be tough. Not because I begrudge them any successes-I hope they have long happy careers- but to have had all that talent to not have won any meaningful game here will be remembered for a long time

Ok. I'm not sure why a few on here are hating on me, so I'll try and clear this up. I am a fan of Justin Hunter. I think he will be a fantastic receiver in the NFL. I think he did the right thing for him and his family by protecting himself during his final year at UT. His mindset was allowed on the field by the staff last year, so it is what it is.

But that doesn't erase the fact that he played like he was scared. He WAS scared. It is costing him money now.
