If you're making claims about the money to be had... Do you forget that USC just happens to be in the overall largest market in the US? And that Los Angeles is a tad closer to Glendale than Ann Arbor/Detroit. Not only that, take a look at the difference in BCS rankings between Michigan and USC. It's pretty small. Set perfectly up for USC to get in after beating two rivals, one of them being a top ten team.
