The quote from the article is confusing or at least misleading. Was he a demoted at some point? Hawk missiles went out of service in the early 2000s. He may have been in the 4th POG but that doesn't necessarily mean anything in relation to this event.

I can see Janet Napolitano saying "I told you so" after this one.

According to sources in the Army, Page enlisted in April 1992. He served at Fort Bliss, Texas, in the psychological operations unit in 1994, and was last stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C., attached to the psychological operations unit.

The purpose of United States psychological operations (PSYOP) is to induce or reinforce behavior favorable to US objectives.

I know it makes for "good headlines" but what the he!! difference does it make him at one time being in the Army?

Putting the tin foil hat on for a moment... Might we see one of these a month until October, giving Obama a reason to declare martial law and suspend the elections????

Just a reminder to all that not every soldier assigned to a particular unit holds the primary specialty of that unit. There are clerks and cooks and mechanics and a host of others in the unit.

Re your first comment, I think that's just the first thing that came out in the new about the guy. The fact that he had somewhat of an unusual history in the military is what is carrying it forward.

It is very unlikely that the US Army Psychological Operations (PSYOP) had any cooks or mechanics.

The guy's primary function prior to joining a Psyops unit was as an AD systems operator

It's not the fact that he was in the Army that is newsworthy. It's the details of that enlistment.

And that is not at all the conspiracy theory that pj was insinuating.

LOL. I doubted there was a lot of real concern there (although it will not be long before Limbaugh et al bemoan the fact that Obama is showing Sikhs compassion but didn't do much at the army base shooting; implying that, therefore, Obama hates whites).
