Since the NCAA doesn’t have the answer for faking injuries…

Look, if the rules folks can get all bent out of shape over Oregon intentionally getting a penalty because it allowed time to tick away, they can do the same over this garbage. I know that coaches will put in a scrub to take a dive, but something needs to be done to at least make it look like there are consequences for flopping.

Hard to substitute a scrub when the offense isn't substituting.

Injured player must be checked and cleared by physician including concussion protocol
Defense can only substitute for injured player, offense can also substitute one player, if offense substitutes more than one, normal substitution rules apply

The mandatory injury timeout would be ideal to cut down on the so called injuries. It's something that I've always mentioned when I see these "Oscar worthy" dives when the teams can't combat a fast offensive style of play.

I believe Kirk Herbstreit was the first public figure to endorse the if a player is injured he must sit out rest of that series unless coach burns a timeout. I agree with that.

I would like to add if a player makes a tackle gets up then goes to ground the team gets penalized 5 yards. I have felt this way since our Mustard game with Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss. I don't know his name but the image is burned in my brain. #7 made a big play on the our backfired. He gets up celebrating and Joe Mikton was getting our offense back to line and #7 looks to sideline and in the view you clearly see a coach pointing for him to go down. He immediately goes from celebrating to I am hurt. If that's reviewed by replay booth then that should be a 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalty.

you do have guys who get hurt on celebrations. I remember one of Georgia's Dline getting hurt one year after celebrating a big play. and there was a WR, at LSU maybe, who tore his ACL celebrating one of his touchdowns.

I hope they don't make it this complicated, SEC officials can't figure out what a hold is I don't want them hurting their heads figuring out exactly when a guy went down. I like the KISS method, you cause an injury timeout then you can't come back in until the next change of possession or your team takes a timeout in lieu of the injury timeout.

I think it would take too long for an honest evaluation of #2. Similarly, #4 could be too subjective. Of the available options, I like #1 the best.

Treat injuries as injuries, not like a timeout. No additional subs other than the injured player. No coaching staff/players other than relevant medical personnel. No huddling at the sidelines with the offense/defense.

Players must remain between the hashes. Staff must remain behind the sideline except as noted to tend the injured player.
And TV does not go to commercials

If there were 2 injury TO, per half there would be 2 things occur, 1- every coach would have somebody go down in the last 2 minutes of the half because just like sick days for a lot of people they wouldn’t want to lose them.
2 - dinged players would make it off the field (like the old days) rather than the refs could hold the play as long as the player is making progress to the sideline and only the replacement player is allowed to substitute

I get it but it's obvious. The one Gramatica tore acl after a fg celebration.

Every injury that requires a stoppage of play should be a 5 yard penalty? I’m thinking that would at least slow down some of the fake injuries but not cost a team a player if the injury is legit and he only needs to “walk it off”. I don’t know the answer either but it needs to be addressed
