I've unfortunately wrecked a few cars in my day(not always causing frame damage) and not once have they ever allowed a car with a bent frame to be repaired. They basically said "your car is totalled, and we'll write you a check." "You can choose to fix it and get a salvage title for it but we will only offer liability coverage on it after that." I've only ever had USAA. It's very rare for them to actually allow you to fix a car with a bent frame but the fine print is usually always in your policy.
Very few accidents end up without some degree of frame damage. It's the way cars are designed to crumple at impact. Virtually all cars do not even have frames any longer, they are unibody where the body is the structural strength of the car. It's really no big deal to have a car pulled on a frame machine. There are resources that have detailed dimensions of several key areas of the car so the car can be straightened back. Problem lies in that if the car is too messed up, it doesn't pay to do all the frame stuff.
