Site issues

Did it again about an hour ago (while Malwarebytes was running) cleaned it out and knew what to look for this time when I couldn't get online. I don't know what to say. I was in the endzone again, forget what thread.

Freak it happened to me last night as well. I was clicking on The Topic that will never die and my IE froze the moment I clicked on it. And I had this software also get into my computer, I started my computer in safe mode and removed it, could not remove it in normal mode. I wouldn't have thought to link it to this site until I saw hmannys post. Still can't say it's related, but it happened when I clicked on the thread.

That must be how I picked up the same thing. Was it the Anitspyware Soft? It took me forever to clean it off my system.

edit: Windy answered that question! That malware HAS to be illegal. I was so angry when it happened. It locked up my entire system. I couldnt do anything!
Three.. :p

You guys have me paranoid because I hang out in the pub and endzone too.

Well one of those above, I believe, told me they weren't sure they were on this site when it happened. So let's say it's 3 1/2. :) I don't hang out in the endzone much but I'm going through every thread I can looking for anything suspicious. If anyone is able to narrow it down, let me know.

:hi:

Thanks freak, hope you can find whatever it is and kill it.

I've been clicking around the pub and endzone all day -- using internet explorer, which I hate -- and I haven't been able to duplicate the issue.

Try the funny pics thread homeslice. I think it has something to do with an outdated version of Adobe Flash

Are you saying the issue may be affecting people with an outdated version of flash? (I hate flash by the way). If that's the case, everyone should upgrade to the latest version and they would not be affected.

I think you should maybe suggest it to folks having these problems my friend. I upgraded. No problems since

Now hear this. Now hear this. Everyone having issues in the Endzone, please make sure you have upgraded to the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. Here is the link:

Adobe - Flash Player

That is all.

ps Thanks to lylsmorr if this works. If it doesn't, blame him. :)

I only had it happen that one time so who knows...I'm just treading carefully...btw I upgrade my flash player about 3 weeks ago (before the malware)!

Freak, it's all your fault..I was clicking on your sn to send you a message and it happened! It probably happened the last time because you had been in the topic, so STAY OUT! :p

JUST KIDDING! :)

You can take it from 3 1/2 to 2 1/2. :) I can 100% confirm it is not this site, I was not using either browser, FF or IE, last night and a java update request popped up. I clicked on it, and BAM it was all back. I have since deleted java from my computer. Ran my avast scan, it found two items deleted those. Installed 2 other programs, malware found 15 items, and the other program found an additional 2 this morning. Hopefully I am rid of this nasty thing, when it takes over, you can do nothing on your computer, can't get control panel to open, can't get your antivirus to run, etc. Awful!

That is strange Windy, but I'm glad to hear you figured it out.

My McAfee has been going crazy on this site the last few days. I've had notices that it killed 2 files that were trying to be put on my PC and a while ago I got a notice that this page was not safe.

I also have McAfee but haven't had any issues....

I just spent two hours with a Microsoft tech support guy on chat because my computer was slow and wouldn't update windows defender. He found a rootkit and fixed the problem. What is a rootkit and why didn't my antivirus stop it or find it on a scan?

In most cases, as I understand them, it means someone gained root access to your system. They typically install a rootkit to be able to reaccess the computer again at a later date.

I had the same problem. Took a couple of programs to detect and get rid of it...but all is good now.
