six returning Vols who are turning heads

Love hearing Peterman is doing well. I think too many wrote him off last year and hope he gets the chance to redeem himself. There was tremendous pressure for a very young man to get his first start against Florida.

Josh Smith is going to have a big year. With safeties worrying about North and Malone/Pearson, Josh will get open for receptions

This, inserting someone that fast late 3rd quarter can take a db by surprise for sure. He will score on some verticals

That's the problem. Josh has never had a problem getting open, he drops big time passes. Hopefully he's worked on that this off season.

If reports from practice are correct, he hasn't dropped anything thrown at him. Hopefully he can bring that to the games

Drops have become synonymous with his name due to last season. But, he was a true FR, multiple injuries, and was probably surprised when one of our QBs actually threw a catchable ball.

The coaches absolutely love this kid. He has been super solid catching balls this spring/summer. I have a feeling, based on his work ethic, that he has spent the entire off season working to change his perception.

Hopefully Josh shocks the world like Rodgers did his SR season. Very excited to see his redemption this season.

Dobbs has been very erratic so far in camp. Peterman is playing better now than at any point in his career.

Base case scenario is that Peterman/Worley are 1 and 2 and Dobbs can redshirt, get better...from a pure depth standpoint! Gives us two competing for 1/2 next year who are almost three years in the program and a RS junior, RS sophomore, and two true freshman.

He was practicing very well last year, but once inserted into a game-- he fell apart..... some people are great practice guys, and some guys are "gamers"-- If I had to put Dobbs or Peterman in, I would not even hesitate putting in Dobbs. The kid is battle tested in the SEC and Peterman flopped in the SEC.

Interesting list to say the least IMO. Inarguably the 2 worst offensive players from last year..... Peterman and Smith. An inconsistent walkon safety who was all over the map last year...Swafford. A player who was involved in the 2 plays that kept us from going to a bowl.... Pig. A player who has previously been a liability at DE now moving to DT.... Williams. And a senior RB who while flashing promise at times, has typically underachieved throughout his career.....Lane.

Anyone else see a theme? Redemption perhaps.
