I don't have the stats in front of me but I'm pretty sure the D finished about 20-25 spots higher than the year before. And that includes swapping NC STate for Oregon.

Yeah but I mean with the pieces we lost on defense and the pieces we gained and the hold overs that have gained experience and another year in the weight room. I see no way that our defense isn't better this year.

I know it's probably obvious by my avatar but I think this is gonna be an awesome year for Maggitt, he's gonna be ready. That year off was smart.

He'll help the defensive line a lot.

Vandys two outside LBs could be really good with their new 3 4 defense.. Mason at Vandy seemed to figure out how to stop spread Offenses at Stanford and he might do the same at Vandy.. This is not the same old Vandy as James Franklin demanded Vanderbilt change their admission policies at Vanderbilt and also allow academic exceptions ( something Cheek will NOT do) and for that reason Vanderbilt just has more players that are like the other SEC schools.
