SJW Culture, Pride Parades, Tolerance and such

And I am telling you to look at those platforms to see what they want to take away. Same-sex marriage, same-sex adoption, equal protection in the workplace, equal protection in schools and universities, giving hospitals and doctors the right to deny emergency care or any treatment to LGBTQ+ folks, allowing open and blatant discrimination at every turn: that is what is in those platforms. The Attorney General of Texas wants to prosecute sexual activities between same-sex couples like it is 1880. The point of Pride movement is to keep crap like this from happening.
Do you think I should sterilize minors?

We are the righteous. We have things like “gender affirming care”. That “do no harm” BS is out the door.
Speaking as a mom (lol, I know what a wet blanket) this kind of stuff really screws up kids.. this is adult stuff (and some adults are even like ‘no, this is too much’ ) 😂 just being honest

What an idiotic stance. Respect laws where people are murdered for being gay? Many also have slaves so that cool too? Child rape? I mean, it's their culture right?

I have no issue upsetting some ME Clampetts. Why would anyone who values freedom?
Clampetts? Don't forget they generally foiled the slickers.
Qatar would be a good place to visit and play spot the bumpkin. Chances are it would be the visiting American.
Why decry bigotry against some but flout it against others?

If the Qataris don't want to be insulted they shouldn't have bid on the event or, even better, they should cease their barbarism.
That's pretty lacking in self awareness as an American. We're backward in ways compared to other industrialized countries. Would it be ok for Holland's team to flaunt a logo that's anti-capital punishment or mocks our race relations, incarceration rate, infant mortality, etc. the next time they play here?
And what barbarism do they practice? The law's on the books but is it applied? How long ago did we have the same type of laws?

Not at all. Answer the question.
Clarification: the American Academy of Pediatrics advocates for referring minors for hormone therapy, surgical reassignment, and the inclusion of trans athletes in sports competition. I have gay friends and get along well with them, while respecting their adult decisions. The "Pride" movement has been very influential in pushing for "gender affirming care" for minors (not included in your list). Do you support this stance?

Absolutely. Though Holland would be an interesting group to protest American race relations when only 6-7% of their population is something other than lily white.

The US never punished homosexuality with death, nor was it ever on the books in any state.

That depends on your definition of gender affirming care. I'm under the impression that currently does not include sterilization or genital surgeries for minors.

Then your are misinformed.

Hopefully we agree here.

Again, I don't think our soccer team should play in Qatar, either.

Yes I'm sure we'd thank them for pointing out our shortcomings. Nah, we'd take it for the trashy move it would be. And Holland's done a much better job of treating their minorities as equal citizens than us. 6% isn't so far from 15% in that regard.
Has Qatar punished anyone with death? I can find nothing saying they have. The US had plenty of anti-gay laws until very recently so we're not so great ourselves in that respect. Our national teams should leave the evangelism at home when they travel abroad

Lol. Come on. Let's compare Qatar human rights record today vs ours. Also, are you aware of the thousands who have died building crap for this World Cup? We should be boycotting simply for human treatment reasons.

I'm well aware of the labor situation there. That's a different issue altogether than what's been discussed.
I'd have no problem at all if we skipped the tournament for either issue.
Just for discussion, if our concern is human rights why are we pushing the rainbow (no fatalities there apparently) logo rather than a labor rights (scads of deaths and injuries) logo?

We should have told them to kick rocks and stayed home. The World Cup should have never been held in Qatar anyways, but FIFA gonna be shady and do FIFA stuff.
Agree, and I won't watch a minute for this reason. The rainbow emblem is just something goofy for us to bicker about on a message board. The players don't actually care about it any more than I do. It isn't helping their cause, though.

I will also not be watching, which sucks, because I love watching soccer, especially the WC. But I'm not being a part of that event, even in my miniscule, insignificant way. Like I said earlier, when your neighbor says they hate you, **** em, don't walk in their house or give them the time of day.

Then skip the tournament. But don't accept an invitation and then insult the host.

Yep, the team should have never accepted the invitation and US soccer should have withdrawn from FIFA when they awarded the WC to Qatar. BUT again, most social justice protests are nothing more than checking a box all the while avoiding the hit for standing up for their principles. Show over sustenance.
