He is shooting 30% from 3 which is terrible when that is all you do.

Skylar has to be pulled from the rotation--and definitely, 100%, unequivocally, needs to be pulled from the starting role that he so irresponsibly and uselessly takes up.

His defense serves one role only--zone/trap at the top of the key. Other than that, he is as useless as a handful of condoms in a monastery.

He has the slowest feet and can NEVER stay in front of ANYONE driving or pressing with any sort of moderate pace.

His ball handling is atrocious--worse than atrocious.

He has no vision for passing.

He elevates as much as my 8 year old nephew.

He tries to rebound and gets abused (and committs unecessary fouls on men twice his size while they continue to convert 3-point plays)

He is SLOW.

And the nail in the coffin........his 3-point shooting has been terrible.

It is time for him to ride out the rest of his scholly on the bench because right now, he is causing more harm than good. His occasional 3-point shots are not worth the constant strain and trouble he puts on the team. Risk vs reward for his infrequent 3-pointers does not make him playing, let alone starting, an effective option at any point for this team.

Just say what you were trying to say...He's white..sit him on the bench.

He's injured, he's having major elbow problems, but if he can't knock down the 3's then he shouldn't be in there, because that's basically his specialty.

This is my problem with McBee. The only reason someone could justify putting him in the game is shooting, and he's really not that good of a shooter in games. We are starting a 3 point specialist who shoots 30% from 3, has no other offensive game, and is a liabilty on defense. I really do appreciate his effort, but I struggle to understand why he sees so much playing time.

I don't fault Skylar at all for his limitations. I fault the coaches that he has played for that continue to keep sending him to the scorers bench. I also fault both for not over recruiting him.

Skylar is to Martin what Steven Pearl was to Bruce Pearl, an effort guy without much basketball talent.:mf_surrender:

Martin seems a little thick to me at times.
He keeps repeating the injury isn't what's hurting McBee's shooting yet he's under 20% since the injury.
Some one needs to wake up.

McRae needs to be starting at the 2. We start slow every game and use him as the spark off the bench to get back into the game. Let's try starting him and maybe we start better and that rubs off on others.

This team more than any I've seen, their shooting whether hot or cold is incredibly contagious.

Also, I'm ok wIth benching or still starting trae, but if you're gonna keep starting him he needs to have a shorter leash. I honestly think BLo and McRae have earned a starting spot next game, JMO.

McRae played like an absolute beast last night. Give that kid the greenlight.

never understood why all the hate for the local guy.he is hurt and struggling and i agree he shouldnt play as much if his elbow is effecting his shot so much he cant do better than 30% from 3.people always say he is a liabilty on d. and he does get beat sometimes but i havent seen a pg trae can gaurd yet and people dont say much about him.

I have always defended McBee's right to be on the floor, as you know, but if he can't shoot he needs to sit. He's a capable defender but that doesn't outweigh his poor offense. McRae needs to play as much as possible.

Hurt or not he has never shot the ball well since he's been at UT. Got to give him credit for his effort but he's just not that good. Pearl should have offered Steele from Fulton instead.

He should be coming off the bench for 10-15 minutes a game to spell Richardson or McRae. I do not believe he should be starting the way he has been playing but this team has so few reliable shooters that you need to hope he comes out of this slump

Following the post over McBee's career here I have seen where the hatred comes from however thinly veiled it is.
