Guys, I know I'm always clowing on the kid but wtf??? I know this team is lacking serious talent but Skyler McBee should NEVER see the floor! Our three point (in my best jimmy dykes voixe) DEADLY SHOOTER is so darn streaky that i close my eyes everytime he takes a shot. Game after game he proves he cant keep up with guys but Bruce played 'em and so is Martin and all i hear is he works hard in practice. Seriously though...who cares! Working hard in practice aint translating to helping in games. I like that martin probably smacked some sense into golden but Washpun is even an upgrade over this guy. Am I seriously just missing something because i just dislike the guy so much or what??

Fact of the matter is no one cares what you think, coach must see something in him. This is the second different coach that has played him extended minutes, but many keep hating. I have no problem with the coaches decision, pretty sure he may know a little more than us.

I have no problem with him playing if he's hot. If he's not killing it then he is usually bricking everything he throws up and picking up dumb fouls. When he's on his game, he's a great asset, but if he misses two or three to start out with he usually isn't going to get any better.

I'm glad someone else feels like me. The kid isn't a DI player, especially defensively. He couldn't stay in front of a turtle driving to the goal.

It is a chat board, this is where you go to express what you think, I disagree with the post, but no need to attack

TIFWIW but, I heard from a VERY reliable source that as long as Skylar keeps his stache, he gets to see extended playing time.. It was part of an offseason bet with CCM... TIFWIWjkBRBimoLMAOroflmaoIIRCbbqLULZ

I think Martin is saying, no one has a starting job secure, if you don't get the job done, he will replace you. Skylar may not be the one, however, he did start last night, and a win is a win.

Skyler McBee has earned his playing time. He is a role player. His three point threat draws the defense out which opens the middle up for our big men. He is no streakier than any of the other players on this team. So get off his back.

I have to agree with you. When he was coming to Tennessee I was hoping we would get our version of Lee Humphrey but it really hasn't worked out that way. The only explanation I can think of is CCM doesn't have many more options. I think Tatums saving grace is he takes a lot of charges and is decent on the defensive end.

The sad truth is, until we get some shooters on the roster, these are the players wevare stuck with.

Your prejudice is showing. I will take the coach's decision over a biased arm chaired QB any day of the week. That goes for those ragging on Tatum and Golden as well. Coach Martin has very few players who can shoot. Those who can, like McBee and Tatum are streaky shooters. If they get hot, they can take over a game. If they are not in there the defense sinks on the big guys. Let coach Martin run his team.

As Jimmy Mc Ginty in Hoosiers said you have to have heart and Skylar McBee has it.He is a real streaky shooter and one step slow on defense but every night you get 100% from him.Now does he belong in this league probably not.But i would rather have him in the game than 5 or 6 other guys

Thank you for the info, anything you hear keep it coming always appreciated.

Buy I don't know ****, remember? I never played or coached sheet, in your words, remember? Why would you care what I hear? Put me on ignore please, and tell your little buddy tvols too. You guys sending smartass barbs back and forth about things you know nothing about is awesome. Called me a douche, idiot, etc for basically telling you guys that CM knows more than you in regards to Skylar and what he sees on the floor. He wouldn't play, much less start a game. Call him a moron instead.

I feel like he's playing because we have no thee source of offense at the 2 and 3 and ccm is just hoping he starts hitting. With tatum providing nothing and josh providing nothing as well offensively he has him out there hoping for a spark. Unfortunately he's not hitting and hasn't been since SEC play, 30%, the problem we have is just nobody else to play.

Personally I'd like to see Richardson an McRae start at the 2 and 3

Because we don't have someone that can create thier own shot off the dribble like years past(Hopson, Prince), this offense only works if the big men touch it. With the double teams, the only chance to open the lane for Stokes and Maymon is for the shooters to hit the three. Best option is Mcbee although he gets burnt on the defensive side. This team needs work.
