Skyler McBee

If I'm not mistaken he is shooting better than 40% from behind the arc. Streaking or not that is pretty good

No skylar is no longer 40%, on the season he is now down to 39%, in sec play he is shooting a blistering 30%, on the road a scorching 23%, and for his career 35%. Funny thing is out of guys seeing time and shooting 3's, swiped has a better %, that should tell ya something.

The numbers don't lie man this guy is not a 3 point specialist or dead eye knockdown shooter that we thought he'd be. The hardest part is is that he can't do anything else, atleast I'd lofton shot wasnt falling he contributed elsewhere skylar doesn't. No im not trying to compare the 2, look at humphreys from fl he was the same way, skylar just brings nothing else, nd the one thing he does brings he's not even that good at.

Because we don't have someone that can create thier own shot off the dribble like years past(Hopson, Prince), this offense only works if the big men touch it. With the double teams, the only chance to open the lane for Stokes and Maymon is for the shooters to hit the three. Best option is Mcbee although he gets burnt on the defensive side. This team needs work.

+1

This is 100% correct, the problem is mcbee isnt hitting the wide open 3's. 30% I repeat 30% since SEC play started!

Hell. If it takes starting Skylar over Golden to get him to play 16-6-5. Go for it. Start Summit over him if you have to.

I'm hoping it clicked for golden and he can start but if he's better off the bench whatever, bring him in after 2 minutes.

Fact of the matter is no one cares what you think, coach must see something in him. This is the second different coach that has played him extended minutes, but many keep hating. I have no problem with the coaches decision, pretty sure he may know a little more than us.

yeah moron...my question was WHAT could they possible see in him. I'm wondering what I'm missing. You seriously must not watch basketball

Your missing nothing, he's our best chance to stretch a d and keep teams from doubling the post but he's not even doing that.

fact....McBee SUCKS. It has nothing to do with his skin color or that crap on his face. If the only thing you can do is shoot threes and can't do that then ride the pine. Washpun is a turnover machine but at least he can penetrate and play good defense.

If McRae plays like he has the last couple of games maybe we don't have to worry about McBrick all that much

McBee is playing because Coach Martin says so. Coach Martin doesn't let the VolNation forum determine his starting lineup and playing rotation. It's that simple. If you want to attack somebody, attack Martin.

That being said, in my opinion, the only player bringing a complete game every time out is Maymon. Stokes is getting there. You could interchange the other players and it doesn't seem to matter. Golden and McRae had a good game off the bench. Hopefully they continue to bring that type of game. Tatum is still struggling with his shot, but brings good defense. We will not go far without Tatum. He really needs to get out of this shooting slump.

Buy I don't know ****, remember? I never played or coached sheet, in your words, remember? Why would you care what I hear? Put me on ignore please, and tell your little buddy tvols too. You guys sending smartass barbs back and forth about things you know nothing about is awesome. Called me a douche, idiot, etc for basically telling you guys that CM knows more than you in regards to Skylar and what he sees on the floor. He wouldn't play, much less start a game. Call him a moron instead.

Grow up, that's what you told me.

Why call out just McBee when he is the best of the inconsistant shooters? Nobody shows anything better on the offensive side of the ball which is what CCM is looking for. He's not in there for his D.

They wanted to try to feed the post early. That's why mcbee was in. Trae has difficulty with it and CM wanted his bigs to get the ball on the block early and try to set the tone. He also fights around picks well. He just has trouble if they take him off the dribble in space, obviously.
Amazing that CM would entrust someone that sucks so bad to take on the role in an sec game.

It wasn't about him starting, you could've started summit. Who played PG the entire game after the first 5 minutes, after ware already had his average and we were getting beat? Not skylar! Who was out there the final 5 minutes with the game on the line? Not skykar!

Doesn't sound like a whole lot of trust to me. To me it sound like ccm wanted to get trae going, he knew uga is very beatable so he could afford to make this move for this game and hope it got trae going. Guess what it worked.

Exactly my point. Martin had his reasons, and the hate on McBee is unwarranted.
