Going to guess he lands at Louisville. He just did an interview where he named 4 schools he’s planning to visit. UT wasn’t on that list.

You can't convince me otherwise that some of these kids just add UT to boost their social media following/attention.I never really felt like we were in it ever with this kid, just the staff checking all the boxes.

We really just need a dominant center that can control the rebounding and a clutch shooter (i.e. a shooter that is dependable every game). Our shooters have these cold spells and off nights that really ruin us in the post season. I think it is nerves.

Provide examples of “dependable shooters” and I’ll provide you games where they shot a low percentage. It’s the nature of the sport that sometimes jump shots don’t go in.

For Tennessee alone, I will go with Chris Loften and Jajuan Smith.

To some degree your correct but Tennessee had a reputation all season with these struggles that made us unique for CBB (Alabama and Kentucky had similar issues). People talked about it all season. I have noticed this is an issue with Barnes' teams in general. I do think Grant Williams was a fairly consistent scorer and even perhaps Kennedy Chandler this year with Tennessee.

However scoring 8 points in 8 minutes is an issue.

Physical Big Man (I have high hopes for Aidoo upside here and hope Tamba can develop), a consistent shooter, and a team that has the maturity to practice free throws in off practice time. Oh, and a shooter with the ability to hit a 10-12 footer would be a plus, not just jack up a 3 at every opportunity.

Lofton shot 40% or better from 3 in an insane 67 games in his career at UT.

He still had 29 games where he shot 25% or worse from 3.

You aren't on every single night from 3, especially in the college game. Even Lofton had his decent share of off shooting nights from distance, and that was before the 3 point line got pushed back in the college game too

I felt like he was clutch though. This year, we just had these massive scoring droughts which caused a lack of confidence in our team and really bit us against Michigan.

We also had chances in several games to win the game and miss the critical shot: Texas Tech, Texas, Alabama, etc.

I think this team just lacked that clutch nature that you really need to advance in March Madness.

One thing that I give a lot of credit to Rick Barnes is that he realized this and was pushing them hard on defense to try to cover us during those draughts.

I also don't blame it on the players. In fact, sometimes you are highly inaccurate not because you are not trying but because you are putting too much effort into the game. I had that experience often in basketball. I tended to shoot a lot better when I was relaxed and not nervous/aggressive.

I could be way off, but I wonder how many of those 29 games were his last year when he was just getting back from cancer.
