NOT SO FAST! Actually, Eason has been healthy since probably the UT game but he hasn't outperformed Fromm at practice. It's not like the kid isn't able to play, he is just option 1B at the moment. I really like Eason but there is something to be said for team chemistry.

Either way, both have been healthy for several weeks now and at this point, its a matter of who plays best each week leading up to the game.

True. You just don't put Eason back in when Fromm has led a 7-0 start. I'm not sure Eason has the same team chemistry as Fromm. Couldn't speak to that. It is a precarious situation for Smart. No way both of those QB's stay on the UGA roster after this season. And Fromm ain't going no where. I still say Eason gives Richt a call. He needs an Eason at Miami, and he recruited the kid, but was too honest to try and take him with him.

Right now I think ONLY UGA has a chance to beat Bama. Very impressed with what Kirby has done with recruiting and the Dawgs look like National Title material!

Kirby only has true freshmen to his recruiting credit. Any RS freshmen or sophs and above are likely all Richt recruits. Richt would prob be 7-0 this year with that roster. It ain't like Smart had a fire pit inheritence. He inherited a natty capable team. We won't see how good a coach he is until all of Richt's players have left.

Now, in comparison, Richt went to Miami, and is undefeated with an inferior and thin roster to what he had a GA. That's a good coach.

And they haven't played a top 25 team yet either have they? UGA has played two, one is in the CFP top 4 and they did it on the road. This is a team that went 7-5 last year and lost 3 games the year before. Recruiting is running at a high level but to think there isn't a lot of coaching involved in what they're doing right now doesn't make sense.

Which "all world TE" are you referring to? Isaac Nauta and Charlie Woerner are the best TEs on the team and they are just sophomores. Yes, 5 deep at RB with White and Cook coming in as freshman next year and the OL won't be a concern at all with the recruiting Pittman has been doing. They are about 8 deep on the DL also ...

maybe have my TE's mixed up. you may have lost one from last year's team i'm thinking of.

and like i said, the OL may be a slight concern, and i referneced the rotating you guys do on defense, so i wouldn't worry too much.

and you could still take step back. you're having a fantastic season this year that looks like it should end up in ATL for sure, and probably a playoff berth.

a step back from that next year may just be the trip to ATL. which you should be able to with ease given ours and FL's issues.

It honestly would be tough to not expect at least a slight step back. Jeb Blazevich is a senior TE and his is a big part of the blocking plan. But Nauta and Woerner are the best TEs on the team right now and are sophomores.

The OL is progressing nicely and working all of Pittman's recruits in as we speak. That is one of the best improvement's this year by far. The RB talent has always been there but now we can see how they do with better blocking up front.

Georgia is a very good team, but I don't think they'll beat Alabama. Outside of a couple losses to LSU in 2010 and 2011, all of Alabama losses (not counting Saban's first year) have been to teams that run a spread/zone read-type of offense, often with a mobile QB or at least one that can move the pocket.

2008 Florida: Urban Meyer spread offense run by Tim Tebow
2008 Utah: Kyle Whittingham had a spread offense
2010 South Carolina: More conventional Spurrier offense, but Stephen Garcia was a mobile guy. Also had Lattimore.
2010 LSU: Conventional offense; Jordan Jefferson was supposed to be a mobile guy but wasn't really. An exception.
2010 Auburn: Spread offense led by Cam Newton
2011 LSU: Conventional offense run by Jarrett Lee, a drop-back passer. An exception.
2012 Texas A&M: Spread offense led by Johnny Manziel
2013 Auburn: Spread offense led by Nick Marshall
2013 Oklahoma: Spread offense led by Trevor Knight. Knight isn't overly mobile but can move the pocket.
2014 Ole Miss: Hugh Freeze spread offense led by Chad Kelly
2014 Ohio State: Urban Meyer spread offense led by Cardale Jones/Ezekiel Elliott
2015 Ole Miss: Hugh Freeze spread offense led by Chad Kelly
2016 Clemson: Spread offense led by Deshaun Watson

Sense a pattern? Alabama simply doesn't lose to conventional offenses, and it often takes a really dynamic QB to beat them.

Fromm has played very well this year, especially considering he's a true freshman, but they've really been reliant on their offensive line and running game. In order to beat Alabama, Fromm would have to make some plays in the passing game.

You missed the point. I was reposnding to the post that said he was killing it in recruiting there. I was meeely pointing out he was coaching mostly Richts recruits and we wouldn’t find out how good he really is until his system is flush with his recruits. I think he is doing a great job coaching. But the majority were already there, and Smart isn’t coaching at a level with that roster that Richt wouldn’t have done.

Can’t remember if GA Tech was ranked at the time of their game but they were a one loss team going into the Miami game and were likely top 25 at the time. So possibly only one more top 25 game at this point in the season. Point being that Richt is undefeated and quietly marching on with a far inferior roster at Miami. That is great coaching as well, and a reasonable assumption that it would take a really good coach to do what he is doing at Miami verses what Smart is doing at GA. I’m a Richt fan. Yet it is obvious Smart is doing a very good job. It’s just that only a really bad coach could muff the season with that roster. Which is still prob 75% Richt recruits.
