According to Ken Burns’ Baseball, in the early years of the game, fans would crowd onto the field and even erupt to argue plays and calls, stopping games for extended periods of time. Today’s fans interfering with the ball in play near the stands seems mild by comparison, but MLB is big business, now, and the majority of audiences are viewing broadcasts. Ejecting fans for interference and making the calls will likely be continued. Hopefully, the guilty party will not receive death threats.Home run tired into a double in dodgers stadium and last night a player almost lost a glove to a Yankees fan.
Maybe it’s time to put the fans back a role or behind glass like a hockey game so they can’t get involved in the game.
Just saying
