Can you believe that "no call" on the Murray hit. Once again the Slive's SEC officials are paving the way for Alabama again. Geesh ... will it ever end?

There's no excuse for the ref not calling that. He had to be in neverland or a BAMA fan.

Eh. Murray should technically be a defender and not a quarterback in that situation right? Was a blindside block with a big lineman's shoulder...which happened to be head level. Unnecessary roughness maybe, but I think debatable due to flip of possession and it was actually a block. Wouldn't have been surprised either way

Edit: I dislike GA about as much as I do Bama so I am kind of biased by being unbiased and kind of hope they all beat each other up (not implying serious injury) :)

As soon as the ball was intercepted Aaron Murray is free game. So, therefore he turns into a defensive player. He can be hit just like everyone else. It should of been a no call. The ref was right.

That was clearly a hit on a defenseless player. I'll bet Slive doesn't suspend the Alabama player like he did earlier this year when he suspended the Ole Miss player for a vicious hit. Alabama will be protected. Slive needs to go, period.

Hit on a defenseless player/unnecessary roughness would have been an acceptable call. I would have been fine with that prob. Blow to head of QB doesn't seem applicable and that was what Danielson kept yelling

Kind of what I was getting at. To the next guy's point. Can you be a defenseless player when you are on defense? Can a block even be that? Serious question

I am not so sure it's a cheap shot. That was after the interception, and it appears the Bama defender was still returning the interception, that makes the entire Georgia offense as defenders, and hitting on Murray is all fair game. My initial thought was the illegal block on the back foul by Bama, but it looks like the hit was from the side.

As far as unnecessary roughness goes, I am pretty sure NCAA rules prohibit any kind of "big hit" against the opponent who is "clearly out the play". I am not sure Murray is "out of the play" at that point. If he was trying to run down the returner, the hit looked fine to me.

Posted this in rumors. Figured no one would mind. Need someone from our Big Bang theory department to slap a "soon" on here.

Don't necessarily disagree with you on Slive but is a defender, which is what Murray is in that position, defenseless?? Not a wide receiver going for a ball etc when that is usually called. Clarifying rules

There is no defenseless player on defense.

This! Pretty much point I was trying to get at. They showed the highlight the first time acting like it was as the pass was let go

Should have been 15 yards and Alabama keeps the ball.
