Don't kid yourself that your superior talent is well coached. Muschamp hasn't proven sh*t as far as coaching goes. And I don't care who the HC is, its not hard to recruit to Florida.
Again trying to justify not getting it done. U can skew any data but the bottom line is better talent wins more often than lesser talent..
Bj boy has next year to prove ur theory but if he fails then u will say he needs more time to get his players.l
any game.
what if most of your competition is coached well and has better players?
How do people on here purpose we get the better talent?
You don't go out after 5 years of crap seasons and just tell all the five stars to come to your school. Tennessee football has been irrelevant for longer than any of us want to admit and in my eyes what Butch Jones and staff did in a short time after the previous coaches all but quit recruiting midway through the season is pretty good.
What you do is have a top 20 class have a winning record with some high profile wins and win your bowl game. Then the next year have a top 15 or 10 class win more games, more high profile games and win your bowl game. It's called rebuilding.
Excellent job by Butch and staff imo. You had us in the hunt for some big names. Now go win us some games this year and prove these negas wrong!!!
GBO!
If I told you I agree with your assessment and will be significantly cutting back on spending money to drive 8 hours to Knoxville or attend away games, would you be happier?
I went to five games last year, and the closest one for me was Jacksonville to Columbia. How many Gator games did you make it to?
I'll probably go to just one game next year. I hope CBJ makes me look foolish for skipping out on trips to Oregon and Gainesville. Gainesville is close, but September day games in that place are a nasty experience, and it's worse when we're getting creamed.
Alabama talent > Texas a&m talent
Alabama coaches > Texas a&m coaches.
Who won?
Line those same teams up nine more times and how many do you think A&M would win?
UT came within a play of being LSU two years ago? Was LSU only a play better?
Making any sort of comparisons about a football PROGRAM based on one game is pretty useless.
So what happens if we don't have a winning record or win/go to a bowl game?
You're saying I will feel like this next year too.
look, my basic point is something most don't want to accept.
this won't happen overnight. this won't happen in 3 years.
it's going to be a tough slog back and ramping up optimism at every turn only makes it harder on the current staff. because the expectations are not reasonable.
it's not meant to be a killjoy. but, too many people are stuck in a world where being tennessee means an automatic number of wins. that isn't there right now. pretending it is isn't being optimistic. it's a set up for disappointment and anger
