I would like to play a good team in NY6 game (and I think we will) as long as we don’t lay a big egg. Some players may be sitting out and with Hooker injured, it is really hard to predict how the game might go. My gut says it would be a competitive game so I hope it happens.

I thought the Sugar contractually, when they are not a playoff semifinal, HAD TO pick the highest ranked SEC team not in the playoff.

You are correct; the highest-ranked SEC team available goes to the Sugar Bowl, though that will presumably be either LSU if they A) lose a close one or B) win and still don't get into the playoff or Alabama if they enter tonight ranked higher than Tennessee in the CFP rankings and take care of business against Auburn.

A NY6 bowl would be a huge step in the right direction for this program, obviously. The Orange Bowl against Clemson is certainly the preferred non-Sugar destination, largely because I just can't envision the G5 opponent being the interest draw that this year's team deserves after such a prolific offensive season.

Side note.

Does Bryce Young play in a relatively meaningless bowl game for Bama given he is being projected everywhere as a top 5 pick?

Same for Anderson.

Maybe that takes a little bit of shine off Bama but I dont see anyway one of the big bowls doesn't take them over TN the way things played out last week.

I can see Bryce sitting out rather than risk injury. He was hurt not that long ago
Winning or losing the bowl they're in shouldn't hurt his draft stock...Getting hurt possibly could but then again Tua with 5th

Yeah, I dont think it'll hurt their draft stock if they sat out and I personally would if I were both of them.

Too much money lost if they were to get hurt and drop out of top 5.

Just wondering if say the Orange Bowl would maybe take it into consideration that their 2 star players may sit out much the same way TN may get dinged with Hooker out.

Yeah I'm not gonna hold against any player that's entering the draft and they're not playing for the Championship if they decided to sit out.
I think that's another reason some of the bigger bowls also want to expand the playoffs...

Yes, Georgia would have to steam roll LSU and UT would have to win convincingly. I can assure you the Sugar wants LSU.
Sugar doesn’t have a choice. They will take the top ranked non playoff SEC team which will be Bama or Tennessee. The Orange will decide next between who is left from those two and LSU and then cotton will be stuck with the Pac12 runner up

Yes. What I stated still holds. The only way we’re moving ahead of LSU is to win big against Vandy and them lose badly to UGA.

Yeah Bama is going to end up the highest ranked SEC team not in the playoff though because LSU is going to get thrashed in the SECCG and the Committee now has Bama #7 and us #10.
