So Brian Kelly...

goes 9-3 with Heisman Trophy winning QB Jayden Daniels. Wow, Peyton couldn't win because he failed to win against Florida. 9-3 only one win better than the Vols. What does Kelly do with a lesser QB. How long a leash does he get at LSU.

Brother, my guess is that that farce of a trophy means less than nothing to most, if not all, of Volnation, at least the ones like me who saw Peyton play for us.

The people behind the scenes are doing everything they can to keep that award relevant, but I’m not so sure that they are getting anywhere. I bet that they majority of sports fans couldn’t name the last three winners.

It’s not just him though. So many other examples. Obviously there is Hornung over Majors and Jim Brown which, imo, is the biggest injustice in the history of the trophy. Either of those guys deserved it over Hornung. Also, the idea that the best player in college football each year just happens to be on the best team, or even a top team, is silly. I’m not saying you give it to the guy whose team is trash (Hornung), but there are plenty of guys who weren’t even in the top 5 because they didn’t play skill positions, who were the best players on some solid teams. It’s absurd. I’m more mad about Horning winning it 65 plus years ago than I am Woodson winning it. The whole thing is nothing is really silly at that point. (I’d also throw Christian McAffrey in there as a deserving winner that you don’t hear much about in terms of getting slighted)

His defense was terrible and in their three big games they lost to Bama, FSU and Ole Miss primarily because of their crappy defense. Jayden put up the video game numbers and that’s why he won the Heisman. Personally I would’ve voted for Penix he put up equally good numbers led the country in passing yards and has his team undefeated and in the playoff.

Phenix had nowhere near the numbers that Daniel's had. The passing yards were equal, but Jayden had 7 more TD's, 5 less int's and 1,200 more rushing yards. It wasn't even close to comparable. Penix had 36 Total TD's, Jayden had 50 total TD's and in 1 less game. Penix threw for 324 a game, Daniel's 318 a game. Daniel's QBR was 208, compared to Penix's 161. There was an overall huge gap between the 2.
