So can somebody tell me the real reason we are 15-10

Refs and NCAA against us? You forgot ESPN as well, heck, it was actually Erin Andrews making that the last shot for Florida.

The refs work both ways, you get calls (ga game since you will ask, that was textbook over the back) and you lose calls.

The reason for 15-10 is simple, toughest schedule in the country.

I would hardly call Oakland, Charleston, and Ark the toughest in the usa.

I think the biggest problem is this team's lack of leadership and discipline, both from the players and the coaching staff. Our guys just run around on the court doing whatever they want. I love CBP, but I think he sometimes is too concerned about wanting to be the players' friend and having them like him rather than making them listen and respect him. Until we can get this straightened out, I think our ship will keep sinking.

Not enough good basketball players.

As the season approached, I thought, "We're in big trouble if we think Goins is the answer at the point." I was convinced that Golden would split time and would eventually take over just over the halfway point of the season. Also, looked forward to Kenny Hall becoming a dominant rebounder when he began to get enough minutes. Without these two things happening, I expected a looonnnnggg year. These two things haven't happened.

IMO, the only way this year was going to be better is if Bruce had started the year thinking that the most talented players should play and stuck to that plan through thick and thin. With enough playing time Golden, McRae and Hall would be major contributors. With McBee and Pearl as primary contributors, the team as a whole has maxed out.

And next year could be MUCH worse with no experienced inside guys at all.

None of our Sports Teams have the "go to player" that you can count on for leadership, consistent play and a willingness to play beyond themselves that creates a internal desire to win ALL the time.
We make more mental errors in every Sport across the board..there is not one person who steps up to be brave and accept the challenge..it seems we are playing not to lose..maybe we just don't have the talent that the other teams have..if that is the case you have to manage the game and that is truly Coaching..as Lou Holtz says..Great Coaches are Great because we have GREAT PLAYERS..great players execute through perfecting the fundamentals..you don't win with raw talent ..there must be something between the temples..
RECRUITING, FOCUSED BRAINS, WORK ETHICS AND A TENNESSEE HEART..it's not brain Science!

Is our roster weak? Has Bruce lost the team before the season started? Are we getting bad calls. The big question I've been asking myself is even if the ncaa distraction never happened would we just be having a bad season out of 6 years and this was gonna be that bad year? I really can't put my finger on this season.

We just aren't very good bro :banghead2:

I think it boils down to two reasons: we lack players with basketball skills and a winning mentality. We lack guys with really solid abilities to dribble, shoot and pass at an instictive level like Lofton, Bradshaw (other than shooting), Smith and others did. Plus, I think the players don't have that mentality of being winners or the collective calmness to make good decisions at the end. I see panic at the end of games, which I didn't see in prior seasons.
Like I've said before, "we are not a very good basketball team".

I don't disagree that refs make bad calls both ways. However if you watch the replay of the Georgia you will
see that Williams was in his vertical area and not over the back.

1) Inconsistent free throw shooting.
2) Abysmal field goal shooting.
3) Lack of senior leadership.
4) Porous defense.
5) Poor decision-making.
6) Bruce gone for eight SEC games.

Weren't we 6-2 or 5-3 with Bruce gone? The horrid losses came with him at the helm. And who exactly does most of those "excuses" fall on? Seems like it would be the head coach

If the refs and NCAA weren't out to get us we would be undefeated. No doubt in my mind

There's no fundamentals, no structure. And for whatever reason we couldnt hit a free throw if we were 2 feet from the ocean. And the ocean was the hoop. It's not the officiating.
